Falling for my best friend

I had profiles on a couple different dating websites cause I’m horrible at knowing when someone hits on me. One day in November I stumbled on this guy’s profile on OkCupid...from his pictures, he seemed to be a hard worker who also embraced his geeky/nerdy side by LARP-ing. Based on the profile, I figured he would understand my love of Medieval history & my involvement in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) so I bit the bullet & sent him a message. I'd love to say that that was the start of forever for William & I, but it wasn't. We slowly talked on OkCupid & then over text. Eventually, we took the plunge & scheduled our first date- dinner at Marietta Square Market- on December 5, 2019. I figured it would be a quick meal as I'm always anxious meeting guys & then we would maybe go back to texting, but William's joyfulness drew me in & our mutual love of Pokemon Go made the date more relaxed. William wants to say that the date made him feel "young again" & very, very enthusiastic to continue interacting. Before either of us realized, it was late in the evening & (I think mutually) we wanted to see each other again so we planned to hike Kennesaw Mountain the following day. One date flowed into multiple dates after the holidays to the point we spent every waking moment outside of our respective works together. We even started going to the gym together & attending Mass weekly. William says it wasn't one particular moment that sealed the deal for him, but for me, about 2 months in to our relationship, I knew that this was the only guy I could see spending the rest of my life with & I remind him on the regular now that "the only way he is getting out of this relationship is when he gets buried." Eventually, William got past his hardheadedness & saw that I "am always right" (his exact words ;) ) & popped the question atop Stone Mountain. We're now looking forward to starting the next phase of our relationship & sharing our wedding & love with our friends & family!

COVID

As there will be small children at the wedding & Danielle is a nurse who has to work with COVID patients, EVERYONE (yes, even those who have been vaccinated) will need to wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking in the reception hall. Both Danielle & William have been vaccinated (& William will have full immunity by the 4th of July weekend)…if you have not gotten the COVID vaccine yet, please consider getting it (www.vaccines.gov or call 1-800-232-0233).
