Jennifer and Anthony met for their first date on October 5, 2016 at a wine bar in downtown Austin. Jennifer was taken aback by what a gentleman Anthony was and how safe he made her feel in a city that was still unfamiliar to her. Anthony would tell you that he was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable conversation between the two of them was and how many beliefs and understandings they shared. Jennifer was naturally 30 minutes late for their wine bar date, in what she insists was an intentionally planned test of his patience. The same theme has been weaved throughout their relationship and has proven that Anthony agrees with the Goldin motto of, "it's better late than never". A number of months after meeting, during which life took them on individual twists and turns of their own, Anthony traveled back to Afghanistan for his 5th combat tour. It can be difficult to encompass through words- but during those 5 months, the two became the best of friends as they supported each other from afar. Anthony and Jennifer believe that they are a true testament to the beauty of waiting in strength and confidence for the right person to choose as a life-long partner- confirming the universal truth that, "it's better late than never."
