FAQs

Question

Who all can attend the welcome party?

Answer

Everyone who is invited to the wedding is more than welcome to attend the welcome party! We wanted this to be a fun opportunity to kick off our wedding weekend and another way for us to spend more time with friends and family together!

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

The wedding ceremony begins at 6:00 PM but we ask if guests arrive at least 30 minutes before so you can get settled before the proceedings. There will be a shuttle for those staying at the hotels that will be departing promptly at 5:15 PM.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is semi-formal. We'd like if guests could wear a suit (with jacket and tie) and ladies to wear a long cocktail or summer dress. The ceremony and cocktail hour are planned to be outside on the rooftop, while the reception will be inside only. If you are joining the welcome party the night before, we suggest wearing something dressy casual. For the men, we suggest a button down shirt, Hawaiian shirt, khakis or jeans. For the ladies, we suggest a romper, jumpsuit or jeans and top.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Unfortunately, our wedding is adults only. We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! If you are traveling from out of town, your kids are welcome to come along for the ride and attend the welcome party the evening before. However, we ask that you make accommodations ahead of time for our wedding day.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We are only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If your invitation indicates your significant other or "& Guest", yes please bring them along! Otherwise, we ask if it was just you.

Question

Will there be a shuttle to/from the wedding venue?

Answer

Yes! For guests staying at the hotel blocks, there will be a bus that will pick up/drop off at The Renaissance Hotel. Exact schedule can be found in the 'travel' prior to the wedding.

Question

Is there parking available at the wedding venue? Is there a fee?

Answer

Yes. There will be paid parking available for guests if they chose to purchase. The cost for the evening is $12.

Question

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What is the best way to let you know?

Answer

Please include this on your RSVP response and we will inform the caterer. If you have any additional concerns, please reach out to Danielle or Andrew directly and we will be happy to help sort something out for you!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Do you know us? Yes! There will be an open bar. Please bring cash to tip our bartenders though.

Question

Is there a hotel block booked for guests?

Answer

Yes. We have a group of hotel blocks at 2 hotels in the city within different price ranges. Danielle Andrew will be staying at The Renaissance Hotel. There is a second hotel block also reserved around the corner, at the Hilton Garden Inn Chicago Downtown Riverwalk. If you are having trouble reserving a room or would like the special rate for more than two nights, please reach out to Danielle or Andrew for any assistance. Summer is busy time in Chicago. We recommend making any hotel reservations as soon as possible. The deadline to book rooms at the Renaissance is July 28th, 2023 and July 31st, 2023 at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Question

What is the best way to RSVP? What is the deadline?

Answer

We ask that all guests RSVP digitally on our wedding website. Please send your responses by July 28th.

Question

What is the best way to contact you if I have additional questions?

Answer

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Andrew or Danielle directly. Leading up to the wedding, we ask that you reach to Michelle if you have any questions (contact information to come), who will be taking care of things beginning August 1st.
