We were randomly paired as dance partners for a sorority/fraternity performance at Towson in September 2016. At first, we just joked around during practices and then went our separate ways. A few months later, Pat invited Casey to his fraternity date party. That night, Casey and Pat got kicked out of his date party, because she offered him a sip of her drink and he hadn't turned 21 yet. We spent that night and the next few months getting to know each other and learned how creepily similar we are before we knew this was endgame.
Pat asked Casey to go apple picking one weekend in October, as an excuse to ask her to be his girlfriend. Now, we try to go apple picking in the fall each year to commemorate the official start of our relationship.
After graduating from Towson University in 2018, Casey and Pat dated long distance; Casey went to New York for graduate school, and Pat back to his parent’s house in Maryland. We spent almost two years traveling between Maryland and New York - a 4 hour drive at its fastest. When Casey started her full-time job in Maryland in 2020, Pat's family graciously hosted Casey for nearly a year until we got our first apartment together in March 2021.
We started in a small apartment in Jessup, MD before settling into our first actual house in Pasadena, MD. We spent months renovating our home, from scraping all of the textured ceilings to painting nearly every inch of walls (think of neon blue in a teenagers bedroom, and that was the original living room color). We plan to stay in Pasadena for a few years until it's time for us to get a bigger home.
Pat got on one knee at Love Point Winery on the eastern shore in Maryland. He didn't tell a soul about his plan, outside of asking Casey's fathers permission months prior. We spent the next few hours calling our closest friends and family (and yes, we have videos of all of your reactions), before heading to Baltimore for a celebratory dinner. We have always loved the water and the eastern shore, so what better a place than here to get married?!
