Flight

Sangster International Airport, Montego Bay

Getting to Jamaica is a breeze! For our Florida guests, it’s just a short flight—about 1 hour and 40 minutes from Miami, and 1 hour and 55 minutes from Fort Lauderdale. You could probably walk if you had a few weeks to kill and the whole Jesus-Walking-On-Water thing going for you. But I recommend flying because the mini bottles of wine make me feel like a giant. There are several international airports on the island, but we strongly recommend flying into Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay. It’s only about 15 minutes from the wedding venue and even closer to all of our recommended hotels. Please DO NOT fly into Kingston (KIN)—unless you’re up for a 3+ hour taxi ride across the island. I can not emphasize enough that these are not neighboring cities, and you will have to roadtrip. There is no visa requirement for U.S. or Canadian citizens—all you’ll need is a valid passport. According to Jamaica's tourism website, your passport must be valid through the date you leave the island. However, to be safe, make sure the expiration date is more than 6 months away from your travel date - so through at least July 17, 2026. Once you land, most resorts offer airport transfers (often included in your booking), or you can arrange a taxi or private shuttle to your hotel. We recommend confirming transportation with your hotel ahead of time. You are also welcome to rent a car, but we do not recommend it. Jamaicans drive quite aggressively and on the opposite side of the road.

Travel Note

HOTELS

Hotel recs for our out-of-town guests (ie. everyone). These are in order from boujiest to most affordable, and they are all within 15 minutes from both the venue and the airport.

Hotel

Half Moon

Montego Bay, St. James Parish, Jamaica

Half Moon is one of the most highly rated resorts in Montego Bay. Our wedding planner called it EXCEPTIONAL—all caps. Instead of standard rooms, you get your own villa (WITH A PRIVATE CHEF!!!) so it’s perfect for groups or families who want to stay together and enjoy a bit of extra space. Like all of the recommendations on this list, it’s beachfront and packed with activities (golf, spa, the works), but unlike the other options, IT IS NOT ALL INCLUSIVE. (I am done with the caps lock now, but that was an important point to emphasize.) Driving distance from venue: 6 minutes

Hotel

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall

Rose Hall Road, Montego Bay, St. James Parish, Jamaica

This is our top pick for an all-inclusive stay in Montego Bay—upscale, beachfront, and adults-only! Just a heads-up though: it’s a bit of a splurge. This is one of the hotels that the shuttle will be stopping at to take people to the wedding events. Driving distance from all wedding events: 5 minutes.

Hotel

Sandals Royal Caribbean

Mahoe Close, Montego Bay, St. James Parish, Jamaica

Another top-tier luxury adults-only all-inclusive resort. Except this one has overwater bungalows, a private island, and serious honeymoon vibes. Also a splurge, but totally worth it if you’re feeling fancy. This is one of the hotels that the shuttle will be stopping at to take people to the wedding events. Driving distance from venue: 11 minutes

Hotel

Dreams Rose Hall Resort & Spa

Rose Hall, Main Road, Montego Bay, St. James Parish, Jamaica
 (876)953-2650

A family-friendly, all-inclusive resort with a private beach, golf course, and water park. A great balance of comfort, fun, and value. Moderately priced and all around a solid option. This is one of the hotels that the shuttle will be stopping at to take people to the wedding events. Driving distance from venue: 4 minutes

Hotel

Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa – All-Inclusive Resort

Montego Bay, St. James Parish, Jamaica

You guessed it - another all-inclusive resort. This is a family-friendly resort with a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere for those who want a slower, peaceful vacation away from the party scene. It tends to appeal to a more mature crowd who prefer relaxation over rum punch fueled twerk contests in the pool. This is one of the hotels that the shuttle will be stopping at to take people to the wedding events. Driving distance from venue: 4 minutes

Hotel

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach

Montego Bay, St. James Parish, Jamaica

Had to include this all-inclusive resort on the list because it has its own nightclub on the property. Driving distance from venue: 9 minutes

Hotel

S Hotel Montego Bay, an SLH Hotel

7 Jimmy Cliff Avenue, Montego Bay, St. James Parish, Jamaica

This boutique hotel is a great option if you want something nice without the big price tag. It’s not all-inclusive, but it’s right on the Hip Strip—a beachside stretch packed with bars, restaurants, and shops. If you're looking to explore, dine out, and enjoy the local scene just steps from your door, this could be the perfect fit. While it's a bit farther from the wedding venue, we’ve arranged shuttle transportation to the wedding events, and this hotel is the first stop on the ride to the party. Driving distance from venue: 19 minutes
