It all started off as a Facebook message that John sent to Lauren back in March 2013 asking, "Wanna play beach volleyball sometime?"  Needless to say, they never played that summer, but the Facebook message was the start of something neither of them thought would turn into a proposal.  The two bonded over volleyball, ice cream, some more volleyball, and a love for dogs.
