We first met on OkCupid in 2017. He lived in Georgia and I lived in Tennessee. We talked for a bit - enough to know we enjoyed each other as people - but ultimately decided that we lived too far away to pursue anything at that point in life. Instead, we opted for being long distance friends and added each other on Facebook. Over the years, he would randomly reach out and send memes, and I (in true form) would constantly forget to respond. I kept telling myself that I would visit him one day (and try *the cheesecake*). He was only three-ish hours away, afterall. Then, sometime in the last week of August 2021, he sent a meme that absolutely cracked me up. I responded, and that was that - we haven't gone a single day without talking to each other since. The following weekend, while both off work for a long weekend over Labor Day, we spent three days talking (and falling asleep) on the phone just like we were in high school all over again. After that three day conversation, he said, he knew that he had to visit and meet me in person. The next Friday, he clocked off work and immediately made the drive with intentions of staying with me for the weekend and returning to Georgia on Sunday night. Sunday night came and went, and he never left. What was meant to be a weekend turned into two weeks. After a few months of driving back and forth between the two states, he made the decision to officially move to Tennessee. The rest, as they say, is history. 💕
