Abigale Hansen

Matron of Honor

Abby is my favorite sister! She has the perfect blend of practicality and empathy to support her friends and family in all life's seasons. Even though she's technically the little sister, she hits above her weight in wisdom and life advice. Business owner, artist, homesteader, nurse, wife, mom: incredible woman. I cherish our friendship and wouldn't want anyone else standing by my side! Thank you for all your help over the last 8 months.

Rose Everette

Bridesmaid

Rose and I met through our undergrad music program. She is an incredible soprano who somehow has the patience to teach her magic to small children. Rose brings excellence to everything she does along with an unstoppable curiosity. Rose is my doppleganger, and one of my favorite stories is when the college nurse stopped her on campus and proceeded to dive into my detailed medical diagnoses because she didn't realize that Rose and I are actually different people who look nothing alike. We're both just tall and have curly hair.

Alex Heit

Bridesman

Alex and I have worked together nearly daily for the last four years. Over the years our relationship has taken many forms, and I consider him a cherished mentor, friend, and partner. I admire his strong personal integrity that he practices rather than talks about. Even though he pretends to have the same emotional capacity as the computer systems on which we work, he takes the care of his family, friends, and charges incredibly seriously.

Joe Porter

Bridesman

I met Joe through Olivia during undergrad. He is incredibly giving, hardworking, and kind. Joe is a problem solver. Need to move thousand-pound machinery, bake the perfect macrons, or looking for a hand-carved rocking chair? Call Joe. He is someone I can always depend on, and has done his fair share of looking out for me since I moved to Pittsburgh. Thanks Joe.

Olivia Porter

Bridesmaid

Olivia and I met in choir during undergrad. She has both a bombastic personality and voice (personal favorite performance: Poor Unfortunate Souls from The Little Mermaid). She is one of the cleverest, funniest people I know. To quote Olivia: "I knew I wanted to be friends because you were never afraid to disagree with me." If more people shared that outlook, the world would be a better place.

Charissa Wendland

Bridesmaid

Charissa and I met through the honors college during undergrad. She is incredibly smart, kind, beautiful, and secretly goofy. She has the emotional maturity to understand the needs of those around her, and continues to help me grow beyond the emotional capacity of a goldfish. Charissa is an excellent communicator and advocate for herself and others, and goes above and beyond to ensure the people around her feel loved. Sorry I threw your card away, Charissa!

Becca Wethered

Bridesmaid

Soulmates and adventure partners for life. I met Becca through the music program at our undergrad. She's been by my side through moldy dishes, heartbreak, ridiculous musical numbers, sand storms, and stupid travel decisions Liam Neeson would never have supported. Our visits are incredibly soul-filling and usually involve live music, binging a new TV show, existential analysis, and getting lost. Becca brings a combination of intentionality and compassion to everything she does (with a sprinkle of snark).

Wayne Garrett

Best Man

Wayne and I actually went to high school together. We knew of each other but didn't know each other well. Fast forward about 10 years, he ended up marrying my cousin, one of my closest friends. We became friends over time and I chose Wayne as my best man because I respect him and admire him. Loyalty and lifting people up are who he is without even trying. Wayne would drop everything to help someone in his family/inner circle.

Carrie Garrett

Groomswoman

For those who know me, typically when I mention the word cousin, it refers to one person only - Carrie. It could be the fact that our families have vacationed together most of our young lives. It could be our sense of humor or who we are as people. Whatever it may be, Carrie is without a doubt one of my if not the best friend. She has grit, determination, creativity and love abounding in every fiber of her makeup. As if my words weren't enough, her husband is my best man and her kids are my ring bearer and flower girl. A true testament to my best friend.

Adam Chatlos

Groomsman

Adam and I met freshman year of college as we were both in the education department. While I was very reserved in high school and still finding my way, I really opened up in college. I am happy to report that Adam was the person who convinced me to take my first drink of alcohol. He definitely helped me to open up and see the world outside of my small town suburban bubble. In many other ways, he welcomed me into his family. Helping him clean up after his legendary 4th of July parties is etched in my brain forever. In addition to that, he's basically MacGyver as he watched a couple YouTube videos and basically built himself a house. I'm sure he'll be getting some calls from me but the best part is I know he would always help me.

Mark Glumac

Groomsman

I first met Mark when I was 4 years old and we thought the Glumac family was going to be a family of 5. Little did we know. Anyone who knows Mark can admit without question that he brings a fun, light heartedness to any room and knows how to make people laugh. Whether having fun on family beach vacations or brother trips to NYC, he's always ready.

Dan Reilly

Groomsman

Dan became one of my closest friends sophomore year of college. Funnily enough, one thing I will never forget is the one time I made the most laid back, relaxed person finally angry - because I drank out of the Brita container without using a glass. After learning how to use glasses from that day forward, it was all uphill. We are similar in the fact that we both come from big families - 5 kids in mine, 7 kids in Dan's. Also, I have a lot of respect for Dan for his values, what he stands for but maybe mostly for the fact that he is a police officer. I am so proud of him for what he's accomplished.

Dave Stallard

Groomsman

Dave and I met in college. He was my roommate sophomore year through senior year. Anyone who really knows me knows that I love fitness - as much as I hate giving Dave credit for anything he started that. Whether he labeled my profession (teaching) as "seasonal work," or nothing more than "making musical instruments out of paper plates," Dave truly possesses a quality all my groomsmen do - loyalty. We act like neither of us has matured a day, but honored to have him in my party.

Chris Thearle

Groomsman

I first met Chris when I was 7. He is one of my cousins. Those close to me know that I cherish my cousins for a big part due to family beach vacations most of my young and adult life. At this stage in life, Chris is someone I truly look up to - not just because he's really really tall. He is hard-working, always positive and basically Macgyver with home improvement and making drinks. He is someone I aspire to be and I am very lucky to call him family.

Finnegan Hansen

Ring Bearer

Finn is Emma's nephew (Abby's son). He always steals the show and your heart. He is a happy fellow who is both a 2.5 year old and a 85 year old man. His primary interests are trucks, his grandparents, the family chickens/ducks, and vienna sausages. He is a sweetheart who will baby sign "thank you" when you help him, but does refuse to share his strawberries (while giggling evilly). We are so excited to watch him grow up and thankful he's here with us. He brings joy wherever he goes.

Owen Garrett

Ring Bearer

Owen is Wayne and Carrie's (my best man and best woman) 5 year old son. He is wise and hilarious beyond his years. I have been so privileged to be trusted with him by his parents. As a result, we have taken so many adventures over the years - the zoo, the movies, the park, Kennywood, Sandcastle - the list goes on. Throughout our adventures, my love for this special little guy has grown and grown. He is so joyful and appreciative whenever I get to hang out with him. Five years of laughs, love and memories has flown by and I'm so thankful for what he's taught me.

Broolyn Garrett

Flower Girl

Brooklyn is Wayne and Carrie's 3 year old daughter. Just like Owen, I have been privileged with spending time with her. In her 3 short years, she has conquered the world one hello kitty and barbie at a time. Just recently, Brooklyn had her first dance recital after a year of hard work and practice. She has the most beautiful laugh and joyful and infectious energy in everything she does.
