We're getting married

Our story begins on October 10, 2017, a date that will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was the first time Alex and I ever saw each other. It was an afterschool university event I’d been invited to by my teacher, a small gathering of select students were chosen to attend this event from the University of Evansville. By chance (or destiny), Alex and I ended up seated at the same table. We didn’t exchange a single word that day, yet somehow, something quietly began. Looking back, it’s almost funny to think that two people sitting side by side could have no idea that years later, they’d be planning a wedding together. Throughout my four years at college I never got the chance to speak to Alex, we had completely different lives. Now fast forward 4 years later on that specific day (oddly enough), October 10, 2021 that was the day Alex and I became official. Yes, fate clearly has impeccable timing. During this time Alex lived in California due to work and I lived in Indiana. You may be wondering how did we ended up together? Well it first started when I friend requested Alex on different social media platforms, which made Alex think I was "shooting my shot." In response Alex decided to message me on Instagram, and from that moment on, our conversations never seemed to end. We talked for hours and pulled countless all-nighters together. On October 8, 2021 Alex came to visit me and that was the first time I ever heard his voice in person. After that visit we became unbreakable and did long distance for almost 3 years. Depending on what state Alex was working in we made it work. There were countless flights, long car rides, and more airport goodbyes than we can count. Each reunion felt like a celebration, and every moment apart reminded us just how strong love can be when two people are willing to meet halfway, sometimes quite literally. Then, on September 11, 2024, Alex completely surprised me with a trip to Italy, and while overlooking the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, he asked me the easiest question I’ve ever had to answer. If I would marry him, and of course I said yes! After years of distance and devotion, we’ve learned to cherish every second we share. Now, as we begin the next chapter of our story, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with all of you, the people who have loved and supported us along the way. So mark your calendars for October 8, 2026, the day we officially say “I do.” We can’t wait to share our joy, laughter, and love with each and every one of you.
