Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Elizabeth Watt and Ben Mckinney
Below are things to check out in Bellingham and nearby areas. We hope you'll be able to see some of the many things that this unique town we now call home has to offer and maybe have the chance to plan some adventures in Seattle, Vancouver, Anacortes, or the Mt. Baker area!

Oyster Dome

Pacific Northwest Trail, Bow, WA 98232

One of the most popular hikes in Bellingham, this moderately difficult trail has a huge payoff in the form of incredible views of the Salish Sea and the San Juan Islands, and even the Olympics and Vancouver Island on a clear day.

Deception Pass

41020 Washington 20, Oak Harbor, WA 98277
, (360) 675-3767

A must see in Washington State! This is about an hour drive from Bellingham. Stop and see the views from the Deception Pass Bridge and visit the state park for some easy hikes.

Teddy Bear Cove

1467 Chuckanut Drive, Bellingham, WA 98229
, (360) 384-3444

A steep but short local hike off of beautiful Chuckanut Drive

Artist Point, Mt Baker

Deming, WA 98244

One of the many great places to visit on Mount Baker. This is about an hour and a half drive from Bellingham. For other hikes, camping, etc. visit the Washington Trails Association website: http://www.wta.org/

San Juan Island ferries

2100 Ferry Terminal Road, Anacortes, WA 98221
, (206) 464-6400

Take a day trip to one of the gorgeous San Juans--Friday Harbor (San Juan Island) has great restaurants and atmosphere, Orcas offers rugged terrain and great hiking, and Lopez is a quiet island with some cool state parks.

Canada

Canada

Canada

It is a very large country located immediately north of Bellingham

Kulshan Brewing Co

2238 James Street, Bellingham, WA 98225
, (360) 389-5348

This is one of several great breweries in town and one of our personal favorites. Nice outdoor seating and a daily rotation of food trucks.

Wander Brewing

1807 Dean Avenue, Bellingham, WA 98225
, (360) 647-6152

Another great brewery with outdoor seating and a rotation of food trucks. Giz likes this one because they usually have some Belgian-style beers in addition to the IPAs that dominate the PNW.

Fairhaven

Bellingham, WA 98225

Fairhaven was once its own town before merging with Bellingham in the early 1900s and is now a favorite spot to visit for out-of-towners. It has really good restaurants, bars, cafes, and is generally a beautiful place to walk around. Some of our favorite Fairhaven spots include: Mambo Italiano (Italian restaurant), the Black Cat (cocktails and food), Tony's Coffee, Övn (really good pizza), and The Village Bookstore.

Goat Mountain Pizza Co.

211 West Holly Street, Bellingham, WA 98225
, (360) 510-6336

Super good pizza with cocktails and beer on tap. Try one of their chocolate chip cookies for dessert - they are the best!

Mallard Ice Cream

1323 Railroad Avenue, Bellingham, WA 98225
, (360) 734-3884

This place is sooo good! They are famous for their unique flavors and ever-changing menu.

Lake Padden

Bellingham, WA

This is one of Giz's (and Champy's!) favorite places in Bellingham. Beautiful place to hike, dip your toes in the lake, and visit the dog park!

Whatcom Falls Park

1401 Electric Avenue, Bellingham, WA 98229
, (360) 778-7000

Another beautiful place to walk and hike or take a dip in the water!

For all the days along the way
