One beautiful Sunday morning, Giovonni and Jordan attended church service at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Both being young adults who saw fulfillment and purpose in serving God, heard the announcement that the Young Adult Ministry was looking for new recruits. Feeling led by the Spirit, the two attended the meeting. Unbeknownst to them both, God had other intentions. It was February 8th, 2018 when Jordan laid eyes on Giovonni for the first time. Everything happens in God’s timing. It wasn’t until June 30th, 2018 that Jordan and Giovonni’s path would cross again. They both attended an event at The Mount hosted by the Young Adult Ministry. Giovonni noticed Jordan on the court and was impressed by his basketball skills and ability to shoot 3-pointers. Jordan gazed off in a distance at Giovonni doing gymnastics on the sideline and was mesmerized by her amazing physique. Jordan walked over to Giovonni and quickly started up a conversation with her. There was no way he was allowing her to leave without exchanging numbers. He extended the invitation for her to join an adult soccer league, which he was a member. To his surprise, Giovonni accepted. The day had come for the first soccer practice. Despite never playing soccer before, Giovonni performed extremely well and really gained Jordan’s interest. After practice, Jordan asked Giovonni to grab a smoothie at a nearby café. The two sat outside the café for over three hours talking about life, dreams, and their desired futures. Who knew that a trip to a smoothie café would lead Giovonni and Jordan to the altar.
