We’re getting married!!

Some love stories begin with fireworks, others with grand gestures. Ours started with mutual friends, awkward teenage charm, and a lot of missed timing. We first met back in high school, where we were introduced to each other at a friend’s birthday party. Even then, Cady remembers Carl as one of the kindest, sweetest, and funniest guys she’d ever met. Carl, on the other hand, was absolutely convinced they were destined to be together (though the universe apparently thought it’d be fun to hit “pause” on that idea for a while). Fast forward a few years — college came and went, life happened, and somehow we lost touch. Then, in our mid-20s, fate decided to have a little fun and matched us on Tinder. (Thanks, algorithm!) What started as a “Hey, don’t I know you?” quickly turned into late-night conversations, shared laughs, and the discovery that we were both proudly nerdy in all the same ways. From Dungeons & Dragons campaigns to Magic: The Gathering battles, crime documentaries, gym sessions, and the occasional LARP adventure, we found comfort in each other’s quirks. Somewhere between we fell in love — the real kind, built on laughter, friendship, and way too many inside jokes. ⸻ The Proposal By the time Carl proposed, we both already knew marriage was in our future — it wasn’t a surprise so much as a beautiful, natural next step.
