FAQs

Question

Where in City Hall will the ceremony be?

Answer

The ceremony will be held in the Aldermen Chambers room. When entering from the side entrance on Washington street, the room is on the 3rd floor, suite 302. There are elevators available. Once you get to the 3rd floor, head towards the front of city hall, and Aldermen Chambers is in the left-hand corner of the building. Our wedding planner will be available to show guests into the ceremony space.

Question

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony kicks off promptly at 5pm, so plan to arrive with plenty of time settling in before 4:45pm, traffic can be tricky! Earliest arrival to the ceremony location will be 4:30pm. If you get to the city early, don't worry, we've got a 'Things to Do' tab to keep you entertained. Let's start on time! We appreciate your consideration when it comes to timing with the ceremony and reception locations.

Question

Where do I park for the ceremony and reception? Do I have to pay to park?

Answer

For the ceremony, there is metered street parking or garage parking available. There are multiple garages on Washington street, within walking distance of both ceremony and reception locations. You can enter the ceremony space after 4:30PM. We do recommend booking a spot in advance using SpotHero due to the World Cup Event. If you’re only parking for the ceremony and driving to Gracie’s to use the valet, book a spot until 6:30pm. - The Biltmore Parking Garage located at 51 Washington Street - 143 Washington Street, lot (uncovered) For the reception, Gracie's offers complementary valet. Uber and Lyft are also an option for anyone lodging locally.

Question

How far apart is the ceremony location to the reception location?

Answer

City Hall and Gracie's is on the same street (both have entrances on Washington street). They are about 2 blocks away from one another, under a 5-minute walk.

Question

What can I expect for the reception?

Answer

We're keeping things simple and meaningful - a dinner-party-style evening with our favorite people. There won’t be dancing or a big party, just a beautiful meal with time to connect and celebrate together. We can't wait to share this special night with you!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is formal cocktail - we’d love for you to dress up and celebrate with us! Although our wedding date is in the middle of summer, both events will be indoors. You may be walking a short distance (5 mins from ceremony to reception). Please keep that in mind!

Question

Can I bring a guest or my child/children?

Answer

As the venue has a maximum headcount we cannot accommodate additional guests outside of the name(s) on your invitation.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We're having an unplugged ceremony! We want to be able to enjoy this time together, seeing your faces and not screens. There will be opportunities post ceremony where the bride and groom will take photos with all guests before heading to the reception.

Answer

We kindly ask that you respond by April 30th. After this date, we will assume you cannot make it and our final guest count will be sent to our vendors.
