He Said Yes!

We met on the Match dating app in December 2013. Robbie had just so happened to be living in Houston at the time after accepting a job as a founding assistant principal at KIPP Sunnyside High School in 2010. Although Chris made the first move on the app by clicking the "I'm Interested" button (because swiping right wasn't a thing yet), Robbie sent the first message, which read, "Hey! What are some of your favorite movies?", one of the app-suggested icebreakers. So thoughtful... Lack of first-contact originality aside, a lovely conversation ensued, and we seemed just to click. We went on our first in-person date on December 21st at a Cyclone Anaya's restaurant in the City Centre development in West Houston. We were both nervous, but our date went really well. So well, in fact, that we went on our second date the very next day to see Anchorman 2 in theaters. That should give you some perspective on how long we've been together! After the Christmas holidays, we shared our first awkward kiss on New Year's Eve at Robbie's apartment when the clock struck midnight, and that was the start of our relationship. Now, after nine years of love, laughter, and adventures, we are finally tying the knot!
