We will have rooms and accommodations pre-arranged for everyone, whether in a villa directly on the property or at a charming B&B nearby. Flight

Air Travel to Florence Airport

Castello del Trebbio is roughly 40 minutes from the Florence Airport (FLR). You can also fly into Rome, Pisa, or Venice, which have more flight options, and take the high speed train into Florence. Trains from these cities run frequently and take about 1.5 hours. Keep in mind when booking your flights that the festivities are Monday-Wednesday, so you may want to travel to Italy the weekend before, or stay a few days afterwards to explore Florence or other parts of Italy!

Travel Note

Passports and Visas

Make sure your passport is up to date with travel regulations. For U.S. citizens traveling to Italy, passports need to be be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure date! This means your passport needs to be valid through January 2027. Europe and the UK are implementing travel visas. Both visas will cost a few dollars and last up to 3 years. The application process is only expected to take a few minutes as well (will receive the visa within minutes of submission). The Europe visa implementation date is still TBD but is expected to go live in late 2026.
As of right now you do not need a Visa if you are only traveling to Europe (not the UK), however this may change and we will keep you posted if it does. The UK travel visa went into effect in January 2025 and requires any traveler going to or passing through the UK (even layovers) to have an ETA (electronic travel authorization). You will only need the UK visa if you have a layover in the UK traveling to/from Italy.

Shuttle

Getting to the Venue

September 28, 2026 3:45 pm - 5:00 pm

There will be pre-paid shuttles meeting at the Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station and at the Florence International Airport to take you to Castello Del Trebbio on Monday, September 28th. If you are already in Florence the day before, you will likely want the shuttle that picks up from the train station, as that is a very central location and the airport is further outside of town. If you are flying in on the 28th, you will likely want to grab the shuttle from the airport. Exact pick-up time will be decided later, but it will likely be between 2-3PM on Monday the 28th. The driver will drop you off at the venue and take your luggage to your assigned villa. Please let us know if you plan to use a shuttle and how many people you will be with at least one month before the wedding, and we will arrange the transport for you. Please also let us know if you want to be dropped back off at the train station or airport after check-out on October 1st. If you need to make an earlier train or flight please let us know and we will schedule you an early shuttle. Otherwise, the shuttles will leave after breakfast. This is the easiest and most affordable option for transportation. Please DO NOT HIRE YOUR OWN PRIVATE DRIVER OR THIRD PARTY SHUTTLE SERVICE as per the venue’s request.

Rental Car

Car Rentals

If you do not use the pre-arranged shuttle service, you will have to rent a car to get to the venue. These are your only two options. *You must have an international driving permit in order to rent a car. This is easily obtained through AAA or other third party companies. Please also be careful when renting a car that you choose automatic and not manual (unless you know how to drive manual).* Please note that there are no Ubers or Taxis available once at the wedding venue. If you anticipate wanting to leave the venue once on property - whether for a quick trip to the local grocery store or a day trip to explore, a rental car is your best option. Side note if you rent a car: There are areas in Florence called ZTL's, which are camera-enforced restricted driving zone covering the historic city center. Unpermitted drivers caught by these cameras face hefty fines ranging from €80 to €335.

Travel Note

Getting Around Florence

If you plan to stay in Florence for a few days to enjoy the city, most places are within walking distance. However, if you need to use public transportation, we recommend using a taxi as opposed to Uber/Lyft. Because of the limited Ubers in Florence, they can be very pricey and take a very long time to get to you. There are taxi stands all over the city where it's very easy to grab a cab and very affordable. Most take credit cards now but they prefer cash.
