As sickly sweet as it sounds, we met randomly while running errands which many have described as a "meet-cute." You see, Susan's college bestie Elizabeth was getting married to the lovely Vince back in Arizona. Not to be out done, Brandon's dear friends Calland and Elizabeth were also getting married at the end of 2019. Susan and Brandon were each in their respective weddings. Susan found a local tailor to make some alterations to her bridesmaid dress, and what would you know, Brandon had the same idea for his suit. Brandon had actually been putting off picking up The Grey Suit (TM), but fate tapped him on the shoulder that day. So he ended up begrudgingly getting out the door and even cancelled another date he had that day (I KNOW RIGHT). While Susan was getting fitted up on their fancy little pedestal thing, Brandon sauntered in and had to wait his turn due to this being a cute mom and pop shop. With the Hamilton gift of gab, he struck up a conversation. Susan was VERY relieved she decided to wear makeup that day. And as Susan was checking out, he slid his number across the counter to her and said "text me sometime." He then proceeded to calm down his nerves as best he could in the privacy of his own car. Susan promptly texted him, being quite impressed nonetheless. And he waited a good 8 hour business day to respond (you see, he had been playing the dating game for quite a while at this point and knew all the tricks). We proceeded to have a lovely first date over coffee that lasted at least 4 hours. Susan would later confide in her PA friend Heather that it was the best first date she had ever been on. Brandon would tell no one. Five years later and Susan makes Brandon handmade cards for every Valentine's day and birthday. Brandon keeps Susan fed as best he can, and gives her regular back scritches. He also begrudgingly keeps her feet warm (true love right there). We've been there for each other through the loss of family pets, layoffs, job changes, and the annual car fight. And we've also been there to celebrate graduations, promotions, new homes, and new (furry) family members along the way. And five years later, we are forever eternally grateful to our Elizabeths, their respective now-husbands, and the little local tailor shop in Parker, CO.
