How We Met

Sophomore year of college, Adam connected with Laura's friend and future roommate Kari on Facebook. They were all in the same class and were fans of the Gopher Hockey team. During a game over winter break, the girls invited Adam to come since several of the friends they had tickets with had gone home for the holidays. Adam and Laura got to know each other more over classes and hockey during the rest of their time in school and remained friends after graduation.

How We Started Dating

During the spring of 2021, Laura mentioned to Adam that she was planning to move from Kansas City in the fall, not yet knowing where she would go. Having planned to visit over the years, but not making it before, Adam decided to visit in May over Laura's birthday. When Adam got to KC, Laura told him she had decided to move back to Minnesota to be closer to her family. The third day there, after spending the day visiting several of the breweries in the crossroads, Adam kissed Laura and everything changed. That summer and fall was full of texts and a few visits before Laura moved back in October.

How We Got Engaged

Laura and Adam started talking about getting married summer of 2023 when they decided to build a house together. Over the winter, they planned a trip to Kansas City for a USMNT game in the Copa America tournament and Fourth of July with Laura's friend Calleigh. In March, while in Arizona, Calleigh and Adam started planning how he would propose. Adam thought since it was where they started dating, it would be the perfect place to get engaged. On July 2, they were going to the World War I museum. They had planned to go into the Liberty Memorial tower, but the weather was very hot and humid, so Laura said she would skip it. Adam and Calleigh had to come up with another plan, so they said they wanted to get pictures from the overlook before it got too hot. After a few pictures, Adam said there was one more thing we needed. He proposed, Laura said yes, and Calleigh captured photos of the whole thing.
