Definitely No, we have set our date based on our official anniversary ( July 5th) to honor Gio’s late brother on his Memorial Day of July 10, 2004
BY THE GRACE OF GOD YES, YES WE HAVE!! We sincerly apologize for any inconvenience and confusion this may have caused you. Please know it is not our character to be indecisive. We really wanted you to join us in James's native country for a serene tropical vacation and destination ceremony. Unfortunately the country of Haiti is currently in turmoil, as well as the fact that a few incidents our family has personal knowledge of. We surly do not want to endanger ourselves or guest. We just ask that you keep Haiti in your prayers at it's a beautiful country and I know personally of it's beautiful people. See ya in Florida which is the best domestic alternative.
Yes, we have hope that the current conditions ( in certain areas) will improve. However speaking to the resort knowing they provide transportation to the resort we are staying there & not touring the country. We will certainly keep any guest willing to travel for our 4 day Vacay updated. Currently (2/25) my father & Law is there, he states he is safe in his neighborhood, because he does not go out at night or to areas that aren’t safe.
We’re not interested in booking a “ cookie cutter” banquet hall, with typical catering those of you familiar with not ONLY Empamamma’s Signature Recipes, but Gio & Jay should know we’re NOT your typical couple. Our 25yr. Union was built on BEATING the odds! Those of you know when this immigrant met this orphaned wondering soul we had Many obstacles against us. We were barely 20yrs young when we got pregnant, learned our baby would need surgery at birth, just scraped our pennies together to get a crappy apt. We just Loved each other and wanted to become a family Officially......25yrs. Later we’ve overcome so many odds and want to celebrate, visit, & vacation/honeymoon where James is from. Nowhere else will be that special, therefore we’re going to continue to keep our faith in God & trust him to guide and protect us.
We regret to inform you we will have to relocate our event do to Elders not being able to attend, fly, etc. for whatever reason travel distance to Florida. Prior to planning and booking our flights we anticipated some may not be able to attend, as the date approaches it’s unfortunate that we learned that most would not be able to fly. Certainly we would like all to be in attendance. I’m sure I’m not only speaking for us but because we went to City Hall initially we are planning this event to be surrounded by all of our loved ones Especially during these times. Therefore we will notify you all when we secure a New York or New Jersey venue. My apologies if this has caused an inconvenience.
