Travel Note

Disclaimer

We deeply appreciate the time, effort and expense our loved ones are putting into traveling to celebrate our special day with us, especially those coming from the UK and beyond. To help make your journey a little smoother, we are happy to assist with transport from the airport for groups of four or more people traveling together. Be mindful of availability. However, please note that we won't be able to offer this service on the day of the wedding, or during the afternoon and evening before, as we will be busy with final preparations. Thank you for understanding, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to coordinate transport with us!

Flight

Eindhoven

Eindhoven is a small airport, approximately 1 hr from the wedding venue. If you are choosing to fly to or from this airport, we would advice you to take use of the public transport. You will get on a bus at the airport towards 'Eindhoven Centraal' (trainstation). At the trainstation, you will hop on a direct train to Sittard. Depending on arrival time and availability, Ross, Gianna or one of our family members can come and collect you from Sittard trainstation and drive you to your hotel. Let us know well in advance if you need us to pick you up. You can also use any of the listed taxi options from Sittard station to your hotel.

Flight

Schiphol, Amsterdam Airport

Amsterdam airport is 2.5 hrs away from the wedding venue. Although it's the furthest away, it is by far the most convenient aiport to fly to from the UK. When you arrive at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, you will follow the signs for the train. The train station is located below the airport. You will take a direct train to Maastricht. You will have to get out one stop before Maastricht, which is Sittard trainstation. Depending on arrival time and availability, Ross, Gianna or one of our family members can come and collect you from Sittard trainstation and drive you to your hotel. Let us know well in advance if you need us to pick you up. You can also use any of the listed taxi options from Sittard station to your hotel.

Flight

Brussel, Zaventem

Brussel Zaventem airport is the main airport in Belgium. The airport is approximately 1.5 hrs from the wedding location. Flying to and from Brussels will be one of the cheapest options to choose from. Make sure you are not confused with the other airport in Brussels, called Brussels Charleroi. This airport is 30 min away from Brussel Zaventem and is just a bit more out of the way. From Brussel Zaventem, you can take a train to Maastricht. This will take 1 hr and 40 minutes. Depending on availability, Ross, Gianna or one of our family members can come and pick you up, but since it is a bit more out of the way for us, please be mindful about other transportation options. Another option is to book a Flix bus. It will take about 2 hrs to get to Maastricht, but this is your cheapest option! From Maastricht Station, you can book a taxi to your hotel.

Flight

Dusseldorf Airport

Dusseldorf airport is one of the bigger airports in Germany. It is about 1 hr. from the wedding location. To get to the wedding location, you can either rent a car and drive or book a Flix bus (cheapest option). Depending on availability, Ross, Gianna or any of our family members can come and pick you up. Please let us know well in advance so we can arrange possible pick ups!

Cologne

Cologne airport (Keulen) is a smaller airport in Germany. The airport is 1.5 hrs away from the wedding location. When traveling to and from this airport, you can either rent a car and drive down to the location or book a Flix bus (cheapest option). If you choose the Flix bus option, you will arrive in Maastricht trainstation. From there you can book a taxi to your hotel or take one direct train to Sittard. From there you can book a taxi to your hotel. Depending on availability, Ross, Gianna or any of our family members can come and pick you up from the airport. Please be mindfull of other transportation options.

Train

Train app

If you're traveling with the train in the Netherlands, the app to use is called '9292'. Here you can put in your current destination and your end destination, as well as time of arrival. It will give you a couple of different travel options. This includes busses and walking disntance. Tip: if you're traveling with Dutch trains, make sure you buy a ticket (fine = 90 euro's) and that you take the right colour of train. There are two colours: blue and yellow. It will say on the app which train you need to take. Yellow is called NS intercity and blue is called Arriva stoptrein. Enterprise Maastricht is one of the many options for rental cars! Having a rental car would be very benificial, since you don't need to worry about trains and taxi's!

Bastion Hotel Geleen

The Bastion Hotel in Geleen is a nice budget hotel. It has free parking incase you will be traveling with a rental car. The hotel is very close to the wedding venue. It is about a 10 min walk. Depending on how many people would like to choose the Bastion Hotel as their stay, we can ask the hotel for a discount code. Please let us know if the Bastion Hotel will be your pick!

B&B Emma is a lovely bed and breakfast in the older part in Geleen. It has free parking for guest and is only a 10 min walk to the wedding venue!

Hotels Maastricht

If you would like to stay in the city Maastricht, there are several hotel options you can choose from. The city is lovely and definitly somewhere you need to go while being in The Netherlands. Feel free to aks for advice on hotels in Maastricht! If you're traveling from your hotel in Maastricht to the wedding, we would advice you booking a taxi (in advance) to our wedding, since we won't be able to come and pick you up from the trainstation.

If you would like to stay in the city Sittard, there are several hotel options you can choose from. The city is lovely, but small. The main square has at least 20 different restaurants with bars for you to enjoy!. Feel free to aks for advice on hotels in Sittard! If you're traveling from your hotel in Sittard to the wedding, we would advice you booking a taxi (in advance) to our wedding, since we won't be able to come and pick you up from the trainstation.
