Costa Rica has 2 international airports. Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) located in Liberia, Guanacaste is the closest to the hotel. Just don't fly to Liberia, Africa :) ____________________________________________________________________________________ • Houston: you could fly United out of George Bush (IAH) or Southwest out of Hobby (HOU). Both offer non-stop flights to Liberia (LIR). • Austin: American Airlines flies non-stop to LIR. • San Antonio: your flight will more than likely have a stop in Houston. • NYC: United has non-stop options out of EWR. jetBlue flies non-stop from JFK. From LGA you'll probably stop in Houston or Miami depending on the airline. • Denver: United has non-stop flights from DEN, otherwise you'll probably stop in Houston, Dallas or Miami depending on the airline. • LA: Looks like Alaska Airlines offers some non-stop flights to LIR. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Do check for other options. If you choose to take a flight with a stop just keep an eye on that layover time. The other international airport in Costa Rica is Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaría (SJO). This is 4hrs away from the hotel.
No. VISAs are not required for American citizens to enter Costa Rica. However your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after your planned arrival date. If you need to renew it, please keep in mind routine applications take 10-13 weeks plus transit times. That means you could potentially be waiting 4 months. We recommend you start the process now if you need to apply for or renew a passport. --- Renew your passport: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport.html Apply for a new passport: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport.html
We are trying to organize group shuttle services but before doing so we will need to know everyone's itinerary (airline, flight number, arrival time, etc) Please share this with us once you've secured your flight. If you'd rather pay for your own private shuttle or taxi please also let us know as we can give you recommendations. Please keep in mind that since these will be group shuttles we will plan them according to the arrival time of the majority of the guests. This means you may have to hang out at the airport a while longer while others arrive. Because of this, if you have a very early or a very late arrival, we will unfortunately not be able to provide a shuttle for you. However we are happy to help you find individual transportation.
Spanish. However chances are almost every person you'll interact with will speak English.
The national currency is Costa Rican Colones (CRC). As of 2/23 the exchange rate is 1USD=580CRC. Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. You will still need cash for things such as street/beach vendors, pop-up souvenir shops, taxis, tips, etc. For the times you do need to pay cash we recommend paying in Colones. You can get them using your debit card at any bank/airport ATMs. Just make sure to always decline the ATM's conversion option, let your bank do that.

Black tie....jk :) Casual-ish Beach Wedding attire: "Women: Opt for a simple sundress, breezy maxi dress, or high-quality romper. While dressy sandals are acceptable, avoid standard, beachwear flip flops and high heels. Men: Nice, short-sleeved shirts such as polos, button downs, linen and Guayaberas are permitted with light weight breathable fabric pants. Lighter colors and/or bold prints will elevate your casual look. Avoid denim, cargo, and swim shorts. T-shirts and or graphic Ts, are not permitted. This is the only instance when sandals may be acceptable, but ensure your feet are well-manicured before optioning an open-toe look. If not, wear a boat/deck shoe or loafer, never sneakers."
