Winter Park Resort's base sits at 9,000 ft with 3,060 ft of vertical rise, putting its beautiful summit at 12,060 ft. We want to ensure everyone is able to stay safe and healthy while enjoying the scenic mountains. A few things that can help prevent altitude sickness include: Hydrate, staying hydrated is an easy way to stay healthy while traveling. Be well rested, although we plan to party, we encourage guests to get enough sleep while they are here! Acclimatize, arriving to Denver OR Winter Park early can help you adjust before Friday, as the ceremony & reception will be held at the top of the mountain. It is recommended to not increase more than 9,000 ft in elevation per day. We will host a welcome party on Thursday for those of you who can make it! Oxygen, we will have a limited amount of portable oxygen for guests not accustom to the altitude. Guest are also welcome to bring their own. Oxygen cans are fairly inexpensive and can be purchased on amazon. While they are not allowed on planes we are happy to provide our address if you would like us to bring them for you.
The average daily weather forecasts for August are between 50–70° F, however the weather in the Rockies can be unpredictable and there will likely be some afternoon rain. Please plan accordingly.
