We're Getting Married

We first met in January 2019 at a brewery in downtown Denver. It was a first date, and we hit it off from the start. We had similar interests, career goals, a love for skiing and the outdoors. It was clear to both of us after that first evening, we would see each other again soon. A few dates later and we were "going steady". Katie had recently moved from San Marcos, Texas after graduation for work with the Department of Interior. Gia had recently finished a year of service in Americorps. Due to these two moves Gia and Katie were both serendipitously in Denver. We were in new stages of life and were excited to grow together. Gia lived in a small apartment downtown with her dog Spike. Katie immediately fell in love with the neighborhood, walking Spike to Cheeseman Park, picking up takeout from DP dough, going to the 1up arcade, hanging out on the patio enjoying the Colorado weather, meeting Gia's amazing friends, family and community, making new friends together... It's a two part love story and this is where Katie fell in love with Gia and Denver! Gia had been here most of her life but showing Katie Colorado was like discovering it for the first time. Katie had and has a way of making everything fun. Between Katie’s joyful sense of humor and her cooking abilities this part of the story is not a surprise. Gia fell in love with Katie and with Katie’s homemade tortilla soup. We moved in together prior to the pandemic and we were so thankful to have each other and support each other through that time. Our family grew along the way, we adopted our cat Wally. In 2021 we started building our first home and the four of us, Spike, Wally, Katie and Gia moved to Wheat Ridge in May of 2022. Two years later we've settled in at home, taken new jobs, traveled miles together, hiked many trails, skied all over the West, and have made thousands of memories. We have built so much life together already and have much to look forward to. We are ready to make the marriage official and celebrate our love with all of you!
