Question

Whats for dinner?

Answer

Our reception is going to be catered by Mission BBQ, in a buffet style setting with servers behind the buffet tables. There will be sliced brisket, pulled pork and pulled chicken paired with 4 different style sauces to choose from as a main protein, slider buns and cornbread also available. For sides we will have Mac and cheese, baked beans and collard greens. - Don't fret, there will also be salad, fresh fruit and veggies to help balance out everything. For beverages sweet and unsweet tea, lemonade, water as well as coffee.

Question

But why on a tuesday?

Answer

We didn't start with the intent to have our wedding on a weekday. After looking around at various venues, and their price menu, it became clear that we wanted to have it at the Barn, and to do so along with all the other costs, we had to save somewhere. Having our event on a week-day saved us a significant expense on not just the Barn but all vendors. June 10th was chosen because it is 9 years from the first time we met in person in Bethel Woods on the Woodstock fairgrounds.

Question

What if I want something stronger than sweet tea?

Answer

We've tasked our favorite cidery with that job and will have open bar from 4:30-9:30. Nine Pin Ciders out of Albany will have their mobile bar car set up at the venue and will be providing four different styles of cider (we have picked two so far, Signature and Ginger, both 6.7% abv). No outside alcohol is permitted, so if cider isn't your thing, unfortunately we refer back to the sweet tea.

Question

Dress code?

Answer

We're suggesting attire that would fit in a semi-formal or cocktail event category. For reference high temps for this date are around 80*F, and lows are around 64*F.

Question

What should I know about the venue?

Answer

- There is ample parking for the expected number of guests, but car-pooling is always encouraged, especially if having a few ciders. - Please do not bring anything to throw (i.e. rice), the property owner has it explicitly stated in our contract that we cannot throw anything onto the property. - Smoking is permitted within a designated area only. Please be respectful and keep it in the designated area.
