The Beginning

Adam and Sarah met on a dating app called Hinge, and in the words of Grandma Rose, "their lives have really changed!" On their first date, the couple got pizza on the patio at Motor City Brew Works, followed by ice cream and playing Skip-bo at Detroit Shipping Company. Sarah was the winner and continues to be the Skip-bo champ to this day. The beginning of their relationship included lots of picnics and meeting each other's friends and family. It was't long before things became quite serious! In the spring of 2020, Adam and Sarah moved in together.

The Proposal

AKA Sarah Day!!

Sarah and Adam had already been making plans for their wedding; the only thing left to do was get engaged! One morning in March 2021, Adam went to work and left Sarah a sweet note letting her know that there were very special plans made for her throughout the day. To this day, Sarah is sure that the note said it was "Sarah Day" but it's a topic of great debate. Throughout the day, Sarah was given notes leading her from one activity to the next. The day included a massage with her bestie Aly, a surprise visit from her bestie Laurie who flew in from California, delicious homemade pie, lunch with her pals, mani pedis and mimosas, and beers with some of her favorite guys. The last letter led her to the pizza place where they had their first date. Adam was waiting there with a room filled with friends, balloons and signs. Adam got down on one knee and the two were engaged!!

The Adventure Continues!

In the fall of 2021, Sarah and Adam moved to Traverse City. Adam is an HR specialist for Interlochen Center of the Arts and Sarah is an Employee Health Nurse at Munson Medical Center. Sarah and Adam are excited to start their lives in Northern Michigan, and to share Northern Michigan with their wedding guests.

Help our family bloom

If you feel the desire to give a gift, it would mean the world to us if you would support us in our adventure to grow our family. For those of you that don’t know, I was born with a birth defect called Apert Syndrome. This birth defect has never stopped me from achieving my dreams, or making the most wonderful friends. However, it did cause me to have many serious and painful surgeries as a child. I am forever grateful to have been able to look up to my Dad and Brother who always showed me how to live life to the fullest, despite a few differences. I have always wanted to be a mother, but frequently wondered what starting a family would look like for me. A couple of years ago, I learned that through IVF, we are able to genetically test embryos, which will allow us to have our own children without passing down Apert Syndrome. When I learned this, it was like a dream come true! Adam and I have already started the process of IVF, and it is already proving to be emotionally, physically and financially difficult. We have been overwhelmed with the support and positivity from so many of our friends and family, and thought that our wedding would be a great opportunity to share the journey that we have started. With love, science, and your support and prayers, we are so excited for what the future has in store for our family. Please don't be afraid to ask if you have questions about our journey. We are all family now 💜 For more information on Apert Syndrome, please visit https://rarediseases.org/rare-diseases/apert-syndrome/ For more information on genetically testing embryos, please visit https://rgiscience.com/pgt-m/
