Sonia (Judy) Romero

Sister of the bride, Gerri. Sonia's middle name is Judith, so the family calls her Judy. Judy has been there for Gerri through thick and thin, and always stood up for her. Judy has a very outgoing personality and people really gravitate around her. Her friendly demeanor, quick wit and sense of humor are really charming and she puts people at ease. She can be the life of the party, but is also very focused in her goals and loyal to our family. She is married to my wonderful brother in law, Ian, who is from the country of Bermuda, so they live in Bermuda.
John Harper
Best Man
John has known Joe since 1983, at the Browns' Bible study. He really loved music, and Joe loves music as well, and he introduced him to the different artists and founders of Christian music. John has been a faithful friend. He has been there for Joe through tough times and been like a brother to Joe. John is jovial and energetic.
Joy Lange
Bridesmaid
Sister of the groom, Joe. Joe and Joy have always been close. Even though Joy is older, Joe always looked out for his sister. They have a special bond, and to this day, it's even stronger. Joe adores his sister Joy! Joy has welcomed Gerri with open arms. When Joy first heard that her brother Joe had a girlfriend, she started crying for joy (no pun intended!). Gerri got to know Joy in such a short time and wanted Joy to be one of the bridesmaids. Holidays are so wonderful because Gerri and Joy are a great team, coordinating food, etc. Joy has a wonderful, gentle temperament and is easy to love. She has a lot of their mother's (Judy Lange) good characteristics.
Jack Lange

Brother of the groom. Jack is the oldest of the Lange brothers. He used to fiercely protect Joe when he was younger. Joe always looked up to his older brother and admired him. When Jack gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ, his life really influenced Joe in his Christian walk.
Hannah Johnson

Hannah met Gerri through her now husband, James. Although James is like a brother to Gerri, Hannah has become like a second sister. Hannah is always so warm, and loves to take care of you in every way, particularly feeding you, so Gerri connected with Hannah right away! If she meets up with you, she's sooo happy to see you! I still can't believe how she warmed up to me quickly. She is a wonderful daughter to her father and mother, and she amazes me that despite the fact that she's currently helping her father while he's undergoing cancer treatment, she INSISTED on coordinating a bridal shower for Gerri! She wouldn't take no for an answer.
Pete Lange

2nd oldest brother of the groom. Joe didn't have to fear bullies because Pete was there to swiftly defend Joe... and you didn't want to mess with Pete! Pete loves Joe very much. Joe has spent many long vacations up in Wisconsin in Pete and Pawahna's (Pete's wife) house and it's always a blast.
Kim Godwin
Bridesmaid
Kim has been a loyal friend to Gerri in so many ways. Gerri really looks up to Kim as a strong woman of God and example of being the hands and feet of Jesus. When Kim is not working, you'll see her serving at church, mentoring the teen girls (she has done that for many years already) or doing a Bible study for them as well as the adult ladies. Gerri still remembers Kim was one of the first ones at Gerri's mom's funeral, willing to be an usherette.
Jeff Lange

Jeff is the little brother. Joe and Jeff are closest in age, so they got in a lot of mischief together, not the least of which included driving their sister Joy crazy. They have great memories together. Joe and Jeff have a closeness to their relationship. They still call each other to chat and check on each other and many times can chat for hours.
Jennifer Kent

Peaceful, kind, mature, loyal and funny. That's Jennifer for you! But her most beautiful quality is her thoughtfulness, like the time she stayed and helped Gerri and Joe clean up after Gerri's mom's funeral in June of 2018. And we have also had lots of fun times at the singles' events at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale.

Kevin Loy I have known for many years. somebody introduced him to me. when I was junior in high school. then I became acquainted with him again at Coral ridge Presbyterian Church. in 2009 I was attending first Church West. Kevin was an elder I served with him in out reach . visiting people and reaching out to people worked alongside him . Kevin is a man of integrity loves helping other people. sharing the gospel and gives good sound advice to those he tried to help and serve . Kevin has a very dry sense of humor. He is well respected by others and myself..
Lori Tighe

Lori has been always such a caring and fun friend with a great sense of humor. Always a great listener and mindful of Gerri's wellbeing. She also was the one who made the time to spend with friends and arrange the get togethers. When Gerri was in the hospital with a lung infection, Lori was there no matter how long it took her to drive and had made a card, collected signatures and even gift cards! And she did the same when Gerri's mom passed away in 2018.

Dave has a calm and easy demeanor. He is loyal and extremely funny. He has been a constant example of living Christ out in his life and a great role model. A faithful friend!
Shannon Smigo

Shannon is a sweet and caring friend. She is funny and witty. Gerri and Shannon quickly connected at work because of our passion for our jobs and helping students in need, so we tag team at work to help each other resolve student issues and help each other any time we can, and she always looks out for me and Joe in our personal lives as well. Shannon always gathers up friends to hang out and doesn't want others to feel left out, so Shannon's gatherings will draw a crowd!
Greg Thompson

I (Joe) first met Greg at Coral Ridge church's youth group leader who played guitar wrote and sang music. When I first saw him and heard him perform or sing I thought of John Denver. Years later I got to know him as a personal friend, at the The Browns' Bible study and then he married one of the Brown's daughters, Bonnie. The Browns opened their house to the singles of Coral Ridge Church. For weekly bible studies there for many years. Canoe trip, summer outings, water skiing. And a really good teacher of the Bible as well. Greg and the browns family Ruth and Jim Brown along with Ron Brown help build the foundations of my faith.
Fawn McCracken

Fawn is a true example of what a real Christian woman is like. She invited me to her Bible study at her home, when she didn't know me. We spent awesome times at her home and with the singles group at First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale (not to mention memorable hurricane parties), and thanks to her example and that of our friend Ruth, my faith grew. Fawn is gentle, has always shown genuine care for her students and others and can easily find the humor in things.

Randy Young I'm mad at the browns Bible study. he lived in North Lauderdale and he would pick me up in Margate and drive over to the Brown's house on Friday night. through spending time with him in the car we developed our friendship and he asked me to be a prayer partner for him as he was going to seminary. and I got to know his whole family at the time the Young's have a lot of respect for the Rev.Randy Young. Mr Nemo.. wow where the years gone!!

When I (Gerri) call Tayler, I know I better have time on my hand because Tayler and I can get on the phone for hours! We'll talk about serious stuff, funny stuff and since we both work in higher education, work might be a topic at times, but usually, it's the other stuff that we both have in common. We both LOVE the Chinese buffet and pretty much anything food related, we get excited about! She has taken me to some excellent restaurants in town! But Tayler and I have also prayed together, cried together, and laughed together. She has been such a loyal and encouraging friend through and through. We both love our families and Tayler takes loving care of her ailing father, so her love for her father really warms my heart!

I (Joe) have known Grif for over 30 years. We first met I believe it was a canoe trip with the church Singles group at Coral ridge Presbyterian Church. We have a lot of same taste in music and food we've experienced going to concerts together. He's been a consistent and great friend. When I purchased my place he helped me to get it moved in ready. My mother Judy enjoyed going out to dinner at Red's chicken restaurant. Grif joined us on a few occasions. My mother really liked Grif and respected him . I myself will never forget the road trip to Disney world it was a spare of the moment thing we had a blast.
Dori Tanguay

Gerri met Dori when they were college students at Florida Atlantic University. They went on a trip with their professor and other students and had a blast, so a friendship blossomed. Dori is very open minded, intelligent, super easygoing and welcoming to anyone. She has been a great listener and loyal friend and ALWAYS offered a helping hand to Gerri and other friends in our group. Even if we don't keep in touch often, when we do, it's like nothing ever changed. I still remember one time when she requested from her friends a handmade card for her birthday from her friends, rather than a store-bought card. Aaaww!! :)
