We're Getting Married!!

We first met at the University of Oregon, JP was the roommate of Gina's college boyfriend and Geri was dating a TKE fraternity brother of JP's. JP and I didn't hang out, even though at one point we were dating siblings from the same family! JP was a few years behind me and in college that seemed much too young for me :) We reconnected at a TKE fraternity reunion tailgate at an Oregon Ducks football game in November of 2022 and sat together the following home game. Let's just say JP was a very slow mover because it wasn't until February of 2023 that he finally said let's meet up. We met at Gina and Steven's beach house in Newport, Oregon with a group of my friends and coworkers to attend the Newport Seafood and Wine Festival. Everyone had a lot of fun that weekend but none more than Me! I was soooo nervous that I drank a bit (maybe a lot) too much! My friends kept saying to JP "I have no idea what's happening with Geri!" Well, lets just say I have zero coordination when I drink. I managed to fall off the bed twice while just sitting and talking, fell down the stairs, fell out of the hot tub and down an embankment (that one is still a mystery) and fell on the icy hot tub deck, finally injuring my foot on that last one! I still remember laying spread eagle on my back on the ice thinking "maybe it wasn't that bad, maybe I pulled it off and looked sexy while falling". I also recall my friends all peering out the window and laughing uncontrollably so maybe I guess I didn't. After that weekend "Clumsy when Drunk" warning stickers were created by my coworker who was in attendance. Lets just say it was legendary. That being said I was 100% sure I was never hearing from JP again after that weekend. Surprisingly, a week later he called and very seriously asked me if I had a drinking problem to which I replied "no" during fits of laughter. And a budding relationship was born! We then spent a lot of time talking and getting to know everything about each other. After almost 2 months of talking and finding that we had a lot in common; the love of family, food and adventure, we decided to meet up for an official in person date for Geri's birthday. The roses just below this story is a picture of the roses JP gave me on that date. There was no drinking on that date and JP went to bed early missing the birthday cake but I didn't mind because I didn't want to share it anyway!! Over the last year we've become best friends. The rest is still to be written but we very are sure it will include more Ducks, TKE's and tailgates!!
