In celebration of our five year dating anniversary, we had dinner reservations at Venue Restaurant & Lounge. It was a beautiful fall evening with the start of a vibrant pink/orange sunset so after dinner Geremy suggested a walk around Holmes Lake. I, somewhat reluctantly, agreed and we began our evening stroll. As we approached our final destination (a fishing pier with the absolute best view of the lake), I noticed a flock of ducks causing a *major* traffic jam. As they one-by-one crossed the road and plopped into the water with absolutely no regard to the inconvenience they were causing, I began to make a series of low quality jokes (along the lines of 'quit ducking around' etc.) that had me quite entertained for, what I'm sure felt like hours to Geremy. Once the one-woman comedy tour featuring said ducks concluded Geremy took my hand, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I responded with "like....for real?!" and then, of course, "yes!" As we walked back to the car in utter bliss, Geremy said the most romantic thing he'd said all evening: "just so you know, those were actually geese"
