Bride
Truly one-of-a-kind. To know Sarika is to love her. Sarika's compassion, determination, strength, beauty, generosity, and love of life are unmatched. Gera is in awe of Sarika's utterly contagious joie de vivre. She knows that their marriage will be full of laughter, love, beauty, and jokes.
Bride
An amazing person who Sarika loves and adores. Sarika is amazed by her ability to do so many things including biking, kayaking, rock climbing, skateboarding and singing as well as being a great fitness instructor and yoga teacher. She is a pretty awesome bride!
Maid of Honor
One of Sarika's sisters and best friends. Jigi and Sarika have spent many a day in the summers eating croissants and drinking pink cherry limeade from Sonic. They grew up first as many siblings do with Sarika following her older sister around wanting to be her friend and Jigi not being too pleased with a little sister always copying her. But as time went on they started being true friends and Sarika couldn't ask for a better bond with her sister and best friend.
Maid of Honor
Grace is Gera's sister and one of her favorite people in the world. Growing up, people always mistook them for twins--you'll have to guess who's older! Grace & Gera used to spend hours, days, and weeks creating elaborate stories and games for their dolls and toys. Grace has never grown out of that creativity and we are constantly inspired by her.
Best Woman
Vickie is one of Sarika's sisters and best friend. Through countless adventures, loads of laughter and the ups and downs of life these sisters have an incredibly strong bond that has gotten them through it all. Vickie is the one who taught Sarika how to read and fake ballroom dance as well as being someone she looked up to as a child. Vickie is a wonderful person with a beautiful family and cannot be present physically but will be joining as Sarika's Best Woman virtually.
Best Man
Hayden is Gera's brother and one of her favorite people in the world. Hayden accidentally met Sarika on their second date--even though he didn't know it at the time! He's currently finishing up basic training and we're sad he can't be here with us in person, but we know he's here in spirit, and we can't wait to celebrate with him soon.
Sarika's Parents
A man with many hats, Sarika's dad has travelled the world and set out on many adventures. He has taught Sarika a lot from how to check the oil to how to appreciate the good in the world. His love for travel and adventure has influenced Sarika greatly. Panna, a teacher and Sarika's mom, always taught her to focus on her education. Her rule was for her children to go to college in order to establish themselves first before getting married. Panna's strength and goodwill has been a strong influence on Sarika. Sarika and Gera are incredibly happy to have their love and support as they set out on a new adventure together.
Keeper of the Playlist
Keeper of the Playlist. Let Jacqueline know what song you can't leave without dancing to and maybe she'll add it to her carefully curated list.
Nieces and Nephews
Nikhil, Divya, Sonali, Aashan, Rohan, Saahan and Priya have all been a large part of Sarika's life. Sarika loves being a Masi, and Gera cannot wait to be an Aunt to all of them! Unbiasedly, we think they are all awesome people who we are so proud to call our nieces and nephews. Though they cannot all be present at the wedding, we know they will all be celebrating with us!
Officiant
Known in the community as “Rev. L”, Lacette identifies as a Black, bisexual, ordained Baptist minister living in the South. She co-founded and leads Us Giving Richmond Connections (UGRC), which sponsored Virginia’s first Black Pride weekend. We are honored to have her officiating our union!
In Loving Memory
Tila taught Sarika a lot as her older sister. From taking Sarika to her driving test, to dressing up with her when Sarika wanted to be a rapper, to reading Sarika's poetry and giving rave reviews, Tila was always supportive unconditionally. Her love and support gave Sarika a place to grow as a person. In loving memory of Tila we honor her presence and know she is in our hearts. Tila would be happy for her sister and Gera as they have found each other and are embarking on this journey together.
