FAQs

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We have a small room block at The Summer Camp Hotel in Oak Bluffs. There is also the Island Inn in Oak Bluffs that has nice accommodations with kitchenettes, or The Mansion House in Vineyard Haven. You'll also find a large array of rental options, but we recommend keeping your search to the Oak Bluffs/Vineyard Haven areas. Additionally, there is always Falmouth and taking the boat over for the wedding. The last boat off island is at 9:30 pm and the wedding would be ending around 10 pm due to noise ordinance and property rules. The venue is about 20 minutes from the Vineyard Haven Steamship Port.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Due to the location, we are limited in how many people we can invite. We have put a lot of time into the guest list to make space for everyone, so unfortunately, we are not able to add any extra plus-ones.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love all of the kids in our lives, this is a child-free* wedding. If you are travelling and would like recommendations for child care, I am happy to give out names of very reputable sitters on the island! *Exceptions for those who are still nursing

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

No formal dress code! We want everyone to come and have a great time while feeling their best! If you are someone who loves a little inspiration, think funky cocktail attire, like a disco garden party thrown by Studio 54, come in color/texture/layers/sparkle. Whatever you love!

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let us know of any food allergies when you RSVP!

Question

Hiking & Ticks

Answer

Part of the beauty of Martha's Vineyard is the wild nature that still thrives thanks to organizations like The Land Bank and The Trustees. There are many gorgeous hikes and trails to explore here that traverse the woods and the beaches. However, we do also have a terrible tick problem and have seen increases in the diseases they carry, such as Alpha-Gal, a dietary allergy that makes those who are bitten allergic to meat and dairy. If you do go on any hikes, near areas of tall grass, or the edges of any wooded area, always do a thorough tick check of yourself and your friends. If you are planning a longer hike, consider treating your clothes with permethrin, tucking your pants into your socks, and longer sleeves. Visit https://ticksafety.com/ for more info.
