His Version: We started chatting through an online dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. After about 7 days of chatting, Erin wasn't completely creeped out by me and agreed to meet in person. I suggested we meet at a used bookstore in DC because I wanted to seem intellectual and creative. The day of the first meeting, I showed up super early and ended up wandering around the bookstore, again, trying to look intellectual. Of course, it was at the moment I was checking out the cook books that someone taps me on the shoulder and says, "Geoffrey?" I turn around and see Erin. She sees me and says "Wow, you have a beard." But that didn't seem to scare her off. We chatted about books, history, travel, theology, and our families. After about an hour, she let me know that she had to move her car and asked if I would like to continue talking. We ended up walking around DC and trying to break into a Masonic Temple (her idea....). She continued to agree to dates with me, I guess she likes me.... Her Version: Geoffrey and I met online, and he suggested we meet at Kramer Books in DC. A man in the corner, reading a book and turned away from me, seemed to fit the description. I tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around, and we introduced ourselves. We grabbed some coffee and perused the bookshelves. We spent a good hour and a half talking about the books in the theology and philosophy section, which I considered a good sign. Coffee at the bookstore turned into walking around DC, which turned into dinner at a nearby restaurant. At the end of the date, I thought, "He's a nice guy; I'd go out with him again!" As the dates continued, my interest in him and my confidence in the relationship grew. Pretty soon I thought, "You know what... I think I'd like to hang out with him the rest of my life!"
