Some of you may be wondering why we've chosen this place to get married. It is definitely not the most convenient place to get to and does not have the fanciest of lodging options. But this place is truly special and one of our favorite places on Earth. Geoff grew up going to the lake every year. He has countless memories with family and friends spent at his grandparent's cabin. As a kid, he loved going to the lake to enjoy time on the boat, water skiing, playing games, and late nights by the water. It was always a special treat when Geoff would get to ride on the boat with his family and head to the Plumas Pines for a meal. As a college student, Geoff spent the summers living at the cabin and working at a local restaurant. It was during college that I found myself at Lake Almanor for the first time. Between visiting Geoff and a sorority sister of mine, who was also living/working at the lake in the summer; I spent almost every weekend of my summer's up at the lake. My favorite thing to do though was take the boat across the lake in the evenings to have dinner and drinks at Plumas Pines with my friends. Fast forward almost two decades after we first met and Geoff and I still love spending time at Lake Almanor and Plumas Pines. We still enjoy camping at the lake with family and friends and dreaming about having our own cabin there someday. Even during our 4 years in Colorado we still made a point bring our own kids to the lake, so they too could enjoy time on the boat, water skiing, playing games, and late nights by the water. We are so excited to share this special place and our special weekend with as many of our close family and friends as we can. We recognize that it is a bit of a trek to join us. If we are lucky enough for you to be able to come, we have included some information in the travel part of our website to help you plan the best trip.
