Directions to Our Wedding: One of the reasons we love our wedding venue is that it is in a quiet and peaceful mountain river valley. While this will allow for a phenomenal backdrop on the big day, it does mean that the property is off the beaten track. While only two hours from Charlotte and 30 minute drive from Boone, the last part of the drive is up quiet mountain roads. As you get closer to The Barn, some cell service providers have no signal. Relying on your cell phone for GPS directions may not be feasible. Car GPS services should continue to work. We highly recommend that you bring Google directions and this enclosed direction card as an alternative in case service is lost. You will have wifi access at the venue. Once You Arrive: When you first arrive at our private gravel driveway, please follow it left along the river. The driveway winds one mile surrounded by fields and the riverbank. The speed limit on our drive is 15 MPH. As you get closer to the Barn, follow the signs to our parking lot. Attendants will direct you to a parking spot and, if needed, shuttle you the short distance to the Barn. From Blowing Rock & Boone: Once you get on US-421 S/US-221 N, stay on the road for about 9.5 miles. Use the on-ramp on the right to continue on US-221 N. Once on US-221 N, most GPS systems will direct you to turn right onto Idlewild Road, which is an option; however, to avoid two miles of narrow gravel roads and stay on state-maintained paved roads, follow these directions instead. This route will add three miles but provides an easier drive. After turning left onto US-221 N, continue for 6.3 miles. Turn right onto Water Tank Road and continue 3.3 miles. Turn right onto Lower Nettle Knob Road and continue 2 miles. Turn right at The Barn on New River sign and veer left onto the Private Drive.
