How soon in advance should I book lodging?

Answer

With Kiawah Island being a very popular vacation destination, and June 6th falling within peak season, we recommend booking as soon as possible. Hotel and vacation home rentals are likely to become very limited (and increase in pricing) closer to next spring/summer. Please note: Some vacation home rentals through Airbnb/Vrbo have strict Sat-Sat (check-in/check-out) rental timelines. You can avoid these restrictions by reserving a private home or villa through Kiawah Island & Golf Resort (800-654-2924 Code: 22745).

Is Uber/Lyft available on Kiawah Island?

Answer

Yes, Uber and Lyft are available on Kiawah Island, South Carolina. However, accessing the island requires paying a commercial access fee and availability is also extremely limited. We highly recommend booking a rental car.

What is the dress code?

Welcome Party: Coastal Cocktail (Men: Jacket, no tie.) Wedding: Black Tie (Gentlemen: tux, Ladies: colorful dresses encouraged!)

Will the wedding be outside?

Answer

Ceremony will be indoors at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Cocktail hour will be outside, weather permitting. Dinner and dancing will be outside under a tent. A large portion of the evening will take place outdoors on grass, so we recommend that women plan their footwear accordingly. Please consider wearing or bringing shoes that are comfortable and suitable for walking on grassy terrain (e.g., wedges, block heels, or flats), as stiletto heels may sink into the ground.
