Our venue, the Norris Tea Room, is within Norris Dam State Park. It has been one of our favorite state parks to visit in the area in the time we lived in Knoxville. If the weather is good and you have the time, we highly recommend bringing a lunch to the overlook that's west of the dam.
Growing up in the Knoxville area, Gemma came here dozens of times for school field trips. There is a lot to see and do here, and you will learn a ton about postcolonial life in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
If you are looking for a calm activity indoors, check out this museum! (We also had our first date here)
If you would like a taste of what Knoxville has to offer, consider starting by walking around in Market Square and browsing the shops and maybe having a bite to eat! Then you can make your way down the main drag of Gay street and see the Tennessee Theatre and continue down into the Old City for great bars and nightlife!
Cruze Farm is probably the thing we miss most about Knoxville, and if you try it you will understand why! Their downtown location is so cute, and always stock up on not only ice-cream, but all their other dairy products like buttermilk and flavored milks for you adventurous kind!
