Although we love children, unfortunately, due to safety concerns and limited capacity, we have decided to make this an adults-only wedding.
Plus ones have already been pre-selected for our guests. If you were given a plus one invitation, you are able to RSVP yourself and plus one on our website.
Please RSVP no later than July 1st, 2024. However, the earlier you can RSVP, the better! You may do so via our website.
Yes. We ask that all guests arrive between 3:00 and 3:30 pm as the ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00 pm. We also ask that you plan your transportation accordingly and leave extra travel time in case of unexpected traffic or road delays.
Embrace the summer vibe with our chic, Summer Cocktail dress code. Think breezy elegance and sun-kissed style – sundresses, linen suits, and playful prints. Whether you opt for vibrant hues or classic neutrals, channel the laid-back sophistication of a summer soirée. Your fashionable touch will add to the warmth and joy of the celebration. May we suggest the following attire options: Men - lightweight blazers or sports coats, dress shirts, trousers, and dress shoes; suits and ties are optional. Women - Floral maxi or pastel midi or knee-length dresses, jumpsuits, and dress shoes (heels, flats, or wedges)
The Martin Johnson House is located in a private, remote location on the University of California San Diego campus with limited parking. Therefore, we prefer guests do not park at the venue. However, if you are in need of a parking space, we have reserved a small handful of parking spaces for our guests. Please share your request with our wedding coordinator, Alana Godoy, as soon as possible. Alana Godoy - Wedding Coordinator | 858.264.7619 | info@godoyevents.com
We will not be providing any transportation to the venue for our guests. We ask that all guests pre-arrange their own transportation. We recommend using rideshare services such as Lyft or Uber or a taxi service. We also recommend you rideshare with others in your party. Tip - If you are using rideshare services such as Lyft or Uber, we recommend pre-scheduling your pick-up.
Our events are outdoors, soaking up the San Diego sun at the Martin Johnson House with ocean views that'll take your breath away. In August, San Diego experiences warm and sunny weather. Daytime temperatures typically range from the mid-60s to mid-70s°F (18-24°C), with occasional warmer days reaching the 80s°F (around 27-32°C). Evenings are generally mild, providing a pleasant backdrop for outdoor events. Guests can anticipate enjoying the beautiful coastal climate, but it's always a good idea to bring a light layer, just in case. It's the perfect setting for making memories, enjoying the ocean breeze, and having a downright good time. It will likely be warm especially during the ceremony, so make to bring sunglasses and/or a hat, sunscreen, and drink plenty of water prior and during the event.
All guests will be given access to our private, digital shared photo album called, GUESTPIX. Guests will simply scan provided QR codes at the wedding and drop their photos and videos into this shared album. We would very much appreciate you sharing all the memories captured on this special day! If you were not able to access our album at the wedding, no worries! Here is the link to the album below: https://my.guestpix.com/Guest/Access/47705/sQDa5aPF
Please let us know on our online RSVP so we can keep track of all allergies and dietary restrictions.
Yes, there will be an open bar. Please plan to bring cash to tip the bartender.
If you type in "The Martin Johnson House" within your Google or Apple Maps cell phone app, this should successfully route you to the venue.
Check back here on our wedding site for updates. If there are any major changes happening, we will reach out via call or text.
The Martin Johnson House is built to be fairly accomodating to guests with disabilities. Rideshares should drop guests off directly in front of the venue, meaning they will not need to walk any far distances. The ceremony will take place on a lawn which is located on flat ground with two cement sidewalks bordering the lawn area. Dinner and dancing will occur on two large decks directly in front of the lawn area. There are a few steps leading up to and connecting these decks, but we believe there is also a built-in ramp guests can access instead of the steps. If you have any concerns or requests about accomodations, please feel free to reach out to our coordinator, Alana Godoy, or Gelsey or Fernando.
Due to the fact that the venue is located on a University controlled property, smoking is prohibited.
We will not be providing a room block, but we do have a few hotel recommendations on our Travel page.
