We're Getting Married!

When you think of Fernando and Gelsey, not many people would associate them with a Full Moon Party at Black’s Beach; San Diego’s nudist beach, but that’s exactly where their story begins… To be clear, this lovely couple met fully clothed. On a moonlit night in April 2014, Gelsey and her friends hiked down a cliffside trail to join a secluded beach party. Not long after, they were approached by a charming man wearing a Ninja Turtles shirt. Usually that’s a red flag, but Fernando was able to overcome his poor choice in attire and befriend Gelsey. What followed was a fun night of sharing stories, listening to Sinatra, and watching the waves crash along the sand. As the bonfire dwindled down and the morning light approached, Gelsey and Fernando hiked back and exchanged goodbyes and phone numbers. After anxiously waiting for three days, Gelsey received a phone call from Fernando asking her on a date… and the rest is history :) Fun fact - the images that you see were taken at Black's Beach!

Gelsey went home to visit family for Easter while Fernando stayed home to watch their dog. Little did she know, Fernando, with the help of both families, had a surprise for her that weekend. The plan started off like any other... luring Gelsey to a winery. There, Fernando was nervously waiting to pop the question. While Gelsey was enjoying a tour and a complimentary glass of champagne, Fernando appeared from behind a stone pavilion. Gelsey was frozen in shock as Fernando got down on one knee and presented the ring. Gelsey said yes, and just like Cinderella and her slipper, it was a perfect fit.
