The Botanic Garden of Smith College
The Lyman Plant House is closed during Smith College's Winter Recess but the Campus Arboretum and Gardens are open daily to the public year-round.
The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art
Located 7 miles from Hotel Northampton, The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art commemorates the works of Eric Carle, an American author famous for such works as "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?". Yiddish Book Center
Located 7 miles from Hotel Northampton. Hours and Tours Open Sunday–Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed Shabes (Saturday) Guided tours of Yiddish: A Global Culture. Tours are first come, first served, with a maximum of 25 participants. Tours depart from the docent desk in our main lobby and last about 45 minutes. Emily Dickinson Museum
Located 8 miles from Hotel Northampton, the Emily Dickinson Museum is open to visitors March through December. Begin your visit at the Museum’s Tour Center, located in the Homestead, to check-in for an existing reservation or to purchase tour tickets. From there, visit the Museum shop, grounds, and gardens, all of which are open to the public. Purchase of a Museum admission ticket grants access to both houses based on a timed ticketing system. Visitors select a timed entry into the Homestead followed by a timed entry into The Evergreens. Purchasing tickets online ahead of your visit is recommended. Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory
13 miles from Hotel Northampton, Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens, opened in October of 2000, consists of an 18,400-square foot facility that includes a 8,000-sq. ft. glass conservatory filled with butterflies, moths and tropical vegetation. The sun shines through the glass walls and heats up the conservatory to an 80-degree tropical-like environment all year round.
