FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Dressy beach cocktail attire encouraged — think elevated and festive, but not black tie. We’d love for guests to dress up for a beautiful beach wedding celebration while still feeling comfortable by the beach. Lightweight suits, linen, colorful dresses, and summer cocktail attire are all great options!

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

You can fly directly into Naxos Island National Airport (JNX) from Athens, or fly into Athens (ATH) and take a ferry to Naxos. There are also ferry connections from Mykonos, Santorini, and other nearby islands. You can also fly into Mykonos or Santorini as they are international airports, and take a ferry from there.

Question

How do I get to Naxos?

Answer

Most guests will either: Fly from Athens to Naxos (~40 minute flight) Take a ferry from Athens (~3.5–5.5 hours depending on ferry type) We recommend booking flights and ferries early, especially during summer travel season.

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

We highly recommend renting a car, ATV, or scooter if you’d like to explore the island! Taxis are available, but having transportation makes it much easier to visit beaches, mountain villages, and restaurants around Naxos.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We recommend staying in: Agia Anna or Agios Prokopios if you'd like to be closest to the wedding venue Plaka Beach for a central beach location Kastraki Beach if you'd prefer a quieter, more relaxed stay closer to our house

Question

Will transportation be provided to the wedding?

Answer

We are currently finalizing transportation plans and will share more details closer to the wedding date.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Naxos in the summer is typically warm, sunny, and breezy. Evenings by the water can sometimes get windy, so we recommend bringing a light layer.

Question

What shoes should I wear?

Answer

The wedding will take place at a beach venue, so we recommend block heels, wedges, sandals, or shoes comfortable for walking on sand and uneven surfaces.

Question

What are some favorite things to do on the island?

Answer

Some of our favorite things include: Sunset cocktails at Avaton 1739 Dinner at Axiotissa or Rotonda Exploring Naxos Town (Chora) Hiking Mount Zas Spending the day at Plaka or Kastraki Beach Taking a sailing cruise around the island

Question

How long should we stay?

Answer

If you can, we highly recommend spending a few extra days on the island! Naxos is incredibly special, and there’s so much to explore, relax, and enjoy. Naxos is also a great home base for exploring other nearby Greek islands. Paros, Mykonos, Milos, and Santorini are all accessible by ferry, making them perfect for a day trip or a few nights before or after the wedding: Paros — ~30–45 minute ferry Mykonos — ~35–60 minute ferry Milos — ~2–4 hour ferry depending on route Santorini — ~1.5–2 hour ferry depending on route If your schedule allows, we definitely recommend making a longer Greece trip out of it!
