How do I get onto the island?

Answer

While Mount Desert Island is indeed an island, you don't need to take a ferry! There is a bridge that lets you drive straight onto the island from the mainland.

Where should I fly into?

Answer

Bangor International Airport also has a number of flights, and it's a 1 hour drive from Mount Desert Island Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport is just off the island, however it's very tiny with fewer flights. Boston-Logan International Airport is about a 4.5 hr drive to Mount Desert Island Portland International Jetport is a 3 hour drive from MDI

What should I do with gifts?

Answer
