What Lake Tahoe trip is complete without kayaking!?! We loved our experience with Tahoe Adventure Company, and they have various guided tours depending on your skill/interest level. Tours start at Tahoe Vista, about 30 minutes from the hotel. Additional kayak rentals can be found closer to the hotel in Tahoe City.
If you want to see another Alpine Lake and get in some pre-party exercise, we recommend 5 Lakes Trail. It's about a 10 minute drive from the hotel and is ranked as moderate (2.5 each way). If it's warm, bring a bathing suit for a quick dip in the lake! Please click the link to see additional hiking trails for all different skill levels.
Rent a bike from the hotel's recreation center and head out to the bike trail that follows the river and starts right outside hotel grounds. Only requirement - don't ask us to join you! Spoiler alert: neither of us knows how to ride a bike. We know, we know - go lecture our parents! If it's hot, you should also consider options to leisurely float down the river! - much more our style :)
If you want to walk around a mini-town, duck into a bar, or even shop, hop on the shuttle to the Village at Squaw. Pro tip : Don't forget to try the wings at Auld Dubliner!
