The Wedding Website of Victoria Elmwood and Gary Duplessis
Mobile shares the same colonial roots as New Orleans, so a lot of the street names will sound very familiar. It's a smaller, cleaner, and less rambunctious version of our native city with the same oak trees and wrought iron balconies. We hope you'll love it as much as we do.

Travel Note

Getting There and Back

The drive from New Orleans to Mobile takes between 2 and 2.5 hours. Get on the I-10 going east and take Exit 26A (Water St.). After the stoplight, the road will VEER LEFT to become JACKSON ST. (It's tempting to turn left here, but don't. Also, don't turn right and take Water St.) Continue forward for about a quarter mile before turning left onto Church St. The Malaga Inn will be one block down, on your left, at the corner of Church and S. Claiborne St.

Hotel

Malaga Inn

359 Church Street, Mobile, AL 36602
 251-438-4701

Both the ceremony and reception dinner will take place here. If you would like to stay on site, please contact the hotel via telephone or book online using the hotel's website. (Or try one of the online aggregator sites like Booking.com or hotels.com) The Malaga's nineteenth century charm is most evident in its historic rooms, but its modern, courtyard rooms are also great!

Train

Amtrak Mardi Gras

The new line from New Orleans to Mobile will run twice daily beginning Summer 2025. Check Amtrak's website for departure and arrival times. Pets in carriers are welcome! Twice-daily service will let you catch the train over in the morning and head back to New Orleans the next morning. (Unfortunately, the Malaga only accommodates service animals.)
