We’re getting married!

Zan’s best friend and matron of honor, Leslie (Boozer) Irwin, met Garrison at UGA where they were both student athletes. They met either at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event, or in sociology class (they can’t agree on which it was). Zan was Leslie’s Maid of honor when she got married in May of 2023. Leslie posted some photos of the bridal party on Instagram and Garrison liked what he saw. He asked Leslie who her “tall friend in the back” was. Leslie immediately let Zan know and got the ok to exchange their information. The first date was a walk around Piedmont park, which quickly turned in to a dinner date as they had great conversation and Zan couldn’t wait to spend more time with Garrison. Garrison knew Zan was the one after she surprised him with home cooked oxtails, the day after he told her that was his favorite food. They love to travel and consider themselves “foodies”. Their first and favorite trip together was to New Orleans. If they’re not traveling, catch them on the couch watching 20/20 or playing with their dog, Peach. It was on a trip to Birmingham to visit Zan’s family, where Zan was first to say “I love you”. During a funny “JC Penny” family photoshoot in Birmingham, Zan was pulled aside by her mom. Meanwhile Garrison (with the help of Zan’s dad, brother, and their family friends Katrina, and Rasheed) snuck in his family and Zan’s closest friends. Zan returned to the living room to see everyone. She was greeted by Garrison who got down on one knee and asked for Zan’s hand in marriage. It was the easiest YES!
