Short story long... Jordan and Sarah's brother, Andrew, had been serving together as youth leaders for about two years when Andrew's air conditioner went out in May 2025. Knowing Jordan worked as an HVAC technician, Andrew gave him a call. Jordan spent the next two days at the house troubleshooting and fixing the system—and somewhere in the middle of all of it, Andrew decided Jordan should date his sister. That same week, Andrew started telling Jordan he should date Sarah and telling Sarah she should marry Jordan. He refused to tell either of them much about the other, but confidently began referring to Jordan as his future brother-in-law...to both of them. Sarah told Andrew that if he liked Jordan so much, he could just invite him to family functions—he didn't need to marry her off to keep him around. Jordan, meanwhile, couldn't figure out why Andrew was suddenly so determined to set him up with his sister. After months of persistence, Sarah finally convinced Andrew to share a little more about Jordan, and her curiosity was piqued. She told Andrew that if Jordan was interested, he could give him her number and they'd grab coffee just to see. Andrew sent Jordan her number almost immediately, and Sarah got a text from him Monday morning. After a week of texting and realizing just how much they had in common, they met for coffee that Sunday. Three and a half hours later, they left laughing and saying, "Well...I guess we have to admit Andrew was right." Sarah walked away knowing she'd just been on her last first date. Jordan was hoping the same. From there, they spent as much time together as they could. Just eight days later on December 22nd, Jordan met the rest of Sarah's family at Rachel's birthday party—a milestone that was important to Sarah before making things official. By the end of the night, they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
On May 29th, Jordan and Sarah drove into the sweet town of Davidson for a "dinner date." They arrived well before their reservation so that they could wander around town and take a few photos together on their film cameras. As they walked hand in hand, Jordan led Sarah over to a beautiful building he said he had noticed before. "Let's just set our stuff down for a second," he said. They hugged, both of their hearts racing. Jordan was nervous about the question he was about to ask as he reached for the ring in his pocket. Sarah's heart was beating just as fast as she had a feeling or a hope that something was about to happen... After Sarah said yes, they took some more pictures together, never stopped smiling from cheek to cheek, and then headed to her parents' house to celebrate with family. Andrew greeted Jordan the same way he had ever since fixing that air conditioner: "Future brother-in-law." Only this time, it was true. Our love story has been the sweetest surprise to both of us and a beautiful reminder of God’s kindness. Looking back, we can see His hand preparing us for one another long before we ever met. We can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together, and we’ll be thanking God ’til death do us part.
