Let's Partyyy!

Garrett and I both did a lot of the same things in high school. We both ran track and cross country, we were both in engineering for a spell and we were in our school's arts program. Garrett sat in front of me in engineering class our sophomore year and that's when we became friends. He was always drawing obscure pictures on the schools computer, like a dog riding a snake in space, or Christmas trees with faces. When he wasn't drawing though, he was talking to me. We got in trouble too many times to count so we started to hang out and write music together outside of class. Long story short, we did the talent show together, our performance was less than stellar and then we started dating. Dating in high school was playful and light hearted. We met up at coffee shops, hiked, did the school dances thing a couple of times and became close friends. High school came to a close and college began before we knew it. We ended up at different schools and had to learn to love each other from a few hours away. It was in the distance that the Lord began to stretch us and show us His deep love for the both of us. We hit bumps in the road and even came close to heart break but by the grace of God our spirits were humbled and surrendered to the good work the Holy Spirit wanted to do all along. We've learned a lot from one another, from those close to us, and from Jesus' death on the cross. We are still learning! But we've decided to do the learning together and we are so excited!
