Should I make a hotel reservation even if I'm not sure I can make it?

Answer

YES. Make tentative lodging reservations ASAP, even if you are still deciding whether you can come. Hotels are already getting booked up because of the Camden Film Festival and other weddings happening that weekend.

What town should I stay in?

Answer

Rockland: a thriving commercial port and a picturesque working Maine town with plenty of sociocultural diversity. Main St. is a mix of working-class diners, bohemian cafes and high-end restaurants alongside galleries, old-fashioned storefronts and two great art Museums! Rockland is slightly bigger and less crowded with tourists than Camden. Camden, with its picture-perfect harbor, is one of the prettiest sites in Maine. Home to the state's large and famed fleet of windjammers, Camden has strong sailing roots. It is a very popular destination and will be hosting an international film festival and multiple weddings on our weekend, so lodging and eating could be a challenge without reservations. Lincolnville and Rockport are much smaller than their sister towns. They offer an escape from the bustle and many nice, good value lodging options along the coast.

What's the dress code?

Answer

Farm cocktail attire. Dress nicely, but leave the black ties, gowns, stilettos, shorts and flip flops at home. We plan to have an outdoor ceremony (on grass) if the weather cooperates. Evenings can be chilly in September so bring a sweater to wear when the sun goes down.

What's the transportation situation?

Harmony Hill Farm is about 20 minutes from both Camden and Rockland. It's an easy drive and there is plenty of parking at the venue. We are also planning to organize a bus that will go from Rockland, to Camden, to Harmony Hill before the ceremony and a return bus after the reception for those who don't want to worry about driving after the festivities.
