Our Story
While our relationship technically started in 2024, our love story started in the early 2000s in Gainesville, Florida! We shared the halls of Talbot Elementary and a second grade teacher, along with several soccer teams, then went our separate ways for middle and high school.
We stayed in touch, enough to make a pact in middle school that we would 1) go to prom together if one of us needed a date and 2) get married if we were both single at 30. We went to Gainesville High School prom together in 2011 and overlapped friend groups through the years, but after high school didn't stay close beyond the occasional Facebook "happy birthday."
In 2022, Blythe moved to Colorado where Garrett had already been living for 4 years. We picked up a friendship again, and it quickly evolved into more than that as we found out how much we had in common as adults. Now we are so fortunate to be building an incredible life together, exploring the outdoors and all Colorado has to offer with our pup Spur!
November 14, 2025, we trekked out to Winter Park to cut our Christmas tree down with our pup, Spur. We picked our perfect tree and Garrett popped the question as the tree fell down!
While Garrett has had a ton of backpacking experience going all the way back to his time completing the Appalachian Trail, this was Blythe's first- ending in a summit of Byers Peak in 2024!

Our favorite hike of all time, where we backpacked to Blue Lakes outside of Ouray, CO, and then summited one of Colorado's classic 14ers Mt Sneffels.
We took our first long roadtrip in 2025 to Lake Tahoe, where we skied multiple Tahoe resorts as well as a couple of Utah resorts on our way there and back
