Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat. (Ladies, please be respectful of the bride and do not wear white.)

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony will be held at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 9343 S Francisco Ave, Evergreen Park, IL 60805 The reception will take place at The Brix on the Fox 260 S Washington St, Carpentersville, IL 60110 Both events will take place inside.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head to the hotel to check into their rooms and freshen up. Then the hotel will be providing shuttle transportation to the reception hall where we will be serving finger foods and beverages.

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible but no later than 4/12/23 and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. If you sent in a RSVP as "yes" and have a last minute plan change, please text Michael or Katie to let them know.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive a half hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled! Guests will be allowed to enter the reception venue no earlier than 5:30PM

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

The church has a parking lot behind it, but street parking is also allowed. For the reception, The Brix has plenty of parking in the back. If need be, you can leave your car over night, but please make sure to pick it up before noon on the following day. If you are staying at the hotel, you can leave your car there and take the hotels offered shuttle to the venue.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Please RSVP by mail by April 12th, 2023.

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

If you are staying at the Sonesta, there is a hotel shuttle service.

May I take a centerpiece/candle/flowers home as a souvenir?

Answer

A lot of our decor is being rented and will have to be returned when we are done using it. Please do not take any decor from the tables home with you. But please feel free to take home your wedding favor!

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We would like our ceremony to be photographed only by our hired photographers. Please keep your phones off and tucked away while at the church. Once the ceremony is over, Yes! We encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

If you still have questions you feel you need answered, please feel free to contact Katie or Michael. Just remember, we are busy bees during this time and may not be able to get back to you right away.

I would like to include a check as a gift. Who should I make it out to?

Answer

Eventually we will legally be Mr. and Mrs. Garland, but we all know how long name changes take these days…. In the mean time, please write any checks out to bride only (Katelynn Zofkie) or groom only (Michael Garland). We appreciate it!
