In winter of 2021, Katie got bored while stuck at home with COVID. She decided it was time to download Hinge (a dating app) again. After two days, she was matched with Mike and they started chatting. Katie and Mike talked only on the app for a couple weeks. They eventually exchanged numbers and talked more and more. She talked about all the work she was doing in her new house and about the dog she would soon be rescuing, he talked about his dog and how much work he was putting in at the gym. LOL. By the end of March, they decided it was time to meet in person. So they planned a very casual date on a night Mike was off work and would be in her neighborhood after the gym. They went to a bar called Oliver's in Katie's hometown. Katie and Mike hit it off so well, that when dinner ended, they decided to go down the street to get ice cream. They spent hours talking and by the end of the night, Mike was already asking if he could take Katie out the next day! Date number two was a little more upscale, Ki's Steak house. They shared calamari, and again, they had such a great night that they weren't ready to part when dinner ended. So they went back to Mike's house to watch the new League of Justice movie. By the end of the night, Mike took Katie's Claddagh ring off her hand and turned it around, signifying her heart as being taken. And the rest is history!
