Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area

We encourage all of our guests to take advantage of our beautiful scenery here in Colorado. With various recreation sites, you'll have the ability to experience it all! Parking fees are required to recreate and it will be CASH ONLY. Please reach out to Brad for recommendations if you would like to fly fish- fishing will require a fishing license.

Agnes Vaille Waterfall

This quick out & back hike is right up the road from the hot springs and leads you to a beautiful waterfall.

Independent Whitewater

Want to get some adventure in before the big day? You can take a quick raft trip! From scenic floats to class four rapids the Arkansas River has an option for all levels of adrenaline.

Drift In

If you don't enjoy rafting, you can also hang out by the river at Salida's Tiki Bar, the drift in. Stories say Brad also caught one of the biggest fish of his life here.

Saint Elmo Ghost Town

Just a few miles up the road, you can visit the ghost town of St. Elmo.

Downtown Salida

Salida is about a 20 minute drive from the hot springs and offers a beautiful river walk, art galleries, as well as food & drinks. Check out the farmers market Saturday morning!

Golf

If you'd like to experience golfing at 8000 feet, there are golf courses in both Buena Vista and Salida.
