Maid of Honor
I met Alissa in 2014 on a study abroad experience of a lifetime in Australia. We quickly bonded after a sunrise hike and later found ourselves traveling through New Zealand together! Despite being physically apart for so long, we talk nearly every day. I immediately knew Josh was a keeper when he helped me plan a surprise trip for Alissa's PhD graduation!
Best Man
I met Josh very organically — we were shoved together by a college dorm algorithm. The really unusual part was that we went into living together as strangers, then played League of Legends together and somehow came out friends.
Bridesmaid
I didn’t know it at the time, but when my now fiancé brought me to Alissa’s Redgate apartment in hopes that I would fit in with his grad school friend group, it was the start of a lifelong friendship. When Alissa did the same thing with Josh, it was clear they were something special. Now Alissa and I are friends, dog aunties, and lab mates all in one. Besides getting married to our amazing partners, Alissa and I are making a 2025 resolution to take photos with each other instead of just of each other!
Best Man
Josh and I were randomly assigned roommates at Union University in 2010. 15 years, and many stages of life later later, our friendship still continues to thrive on laughter, loyalty, and pretending we have refined tastes, but never saying no to Taco Bell at 2 a.m
Bridesmaid
Alissa and I met in grad school and bonded through laughs, tears, rants, and many cups of coffee. We lived a block apart and would meet at Smartmouth for trivia every Wednesday- a tradition that now includes Josh and Rosie!! Alissa is the best seafood-hating crab picker I have ever seen.
Best Man
Met Josh in college. Handsome gent, love him like a brother and wish we lived closer so I could see him more often. Man makes a lovely old fashioned.
Bridesmaid
Alissa and I met in grad school, but our friendship grew during weekly pub trivia and board game nights. Both animal lovers with a soft spot for cats, me and Alissa have also bonded over the joys - and challenges- of fostering kitten litters.
Ring Bearer
I come down to visit this amazing couple commonly and love to spend time with them. Weather it’s going out to eat, having fun, or laying around the house, we always have fun family bonding.
Bridesmaid
I met Alissa in grad school in 2017/2018 (?) at Old Dominion University. Her lab office was across the hall from mine and her wet lab was at the other end of the room from mine. We ended up having a class together and soon started chatting while we were working downstairs in the wet lab. We bonded over our shared love of all things Harry Potter, science, and our pets. And as they say, the rest is history. In a classic tale of an extrovert adopting an introvert and forcing them to socialize, Alissa quickly invited me to hang out with her other friends in our program and we all soon became good friends. I can't thank her enough for starting up that initial conversation and literally introducing me to and being part of the support network I would need to persevere and finish graduate school. Alissa's one of my favorite people in the world and is the most loyal and supportive friend you could ask for. She's stood by me through thick and thin and I am so honored to stand by her as she and Josh start their marriage.
